Mr Clean Eraser...there's more than one isn't there?

My mom was going to the store while I was detailing my uncle's truck, so I told her to grab a Mr Clean Magic Eraser if she saw them (for overspray removal on the plastic). Well she came home with a box of the "erasers". I wet one and tried it out on the plastic mirror. It very slowly removed the overspray, and left a white haze afterward, which was removed by PB's Trim Restorer.



So anyway I looked at the package and it said "Wheel and Tire" in the corner. Is there a separate Eraser for plastic/vinyl?

I hate when this happens...



Any other suggestions on how to remove the overspray? Here's what didn't work:

I believe they have 2 now. One for wheels/tires and one for general cleaning. They actually have a new one with a blue backing. Haven't seen it in stores.

Yeah that's what I was afraid of. I have the wheel/tire one and it isn't working very well for the overspray removal. I will have to try it on a door panel scuff and see if it works on that. I'm just afraid I wasted another 4 bucks.
 
I'm a bit skeptical that there are actually different erasers.:nixweiss



Now I havn't physically tested each side by side but I know that in Marketing terms they will sell alot more if packaged to get the attention of different audiences. I like product and use it alot. Just wonder if they really are any different.
 
Is the "Auto" version of the Magic Eraser the same as the wheel & tire? If not, there are at least 3-4 different erasers from Mr. Clean.
 
The best product on the market is the "Magic Wand" it is the same as the eraser but more durable an I think it works better. You can get 48 for $30 from Kleen-Rite.

Thats my point, are they really any different from each other??

I can't tell a bit of difference between these two. Longevity seems to be even so far....
 
I also purchased the wheel/tire one; I've found it to work great on nasty interior trim panels.



I also just ordered some Diamondite Speed Clay (foam clay) that comes with a hard foam scrubber. I'll be interested to see how it works compared to a regular claybar. Price seems about equal between the two depending how much of the foam I need to do the job.
