Mother's Reflections Advanced product line?

I have Mothers Reflections Top Coat on my mom's camaro and at roughly 2 months its still beading and looks great. It has good gloss and warmth, not quite as clear looking or neutral as some straight sealants.

Is Top Coat less durable than the regular wax? What's the difference?

Also, what is the durability of the FX Spray Wax? Considering going with the FX or the regular Reflections Spray wax.

Top Coat doesn't have the light cleaners that the regular Reflections does. The durability for the FX Spray is supposedly around 1 month, mosdef go with the FX becuase it applies like QD--but it protects.

I was going solely on the fact that they were introduced to the market at the same time. I've personally not used any of the products.

And how old is this thread? :doh

Typical OTC review Alex! Nice write up.

I got the Reflections Leather Cleaner for $5 yesterday. I also picked up the FX Spray Wax to compete with my Eagle One Wax As U Dry. I'm going to try one on each side of the car.

Anyone top a carnauba with Top Coat? What difference is there?

ill tell you, ive used just about everything on the market..on a regular basis i use klasse products, pinnacle produts and so on. a few weeks ago i decided to try something different. i went and picked up a bottle of NANO wax at the local auto parts store, WOW was i impressed with this stuff, it not souveran but man is this stuff easy to use, produces outstanding depth, clarity and shine over top of klasse AIO. out of all the OTC products ive EVER used this one takes the cake by far, highly recomended!

The thing I don't like about Reflections Car Wax is that it doesn't fill in scratches like NXT tech wax does. This isn't a problem if you have a flawless finish, but for someone like me who does a full polish every 6 months, you inevitably get swirls and light scratches from normal wear and tear. Other than that, the car wax is very easy to use and leaves a good shine.

I'll have to try the leather care and tire shine. Not sure about the top coat...as I am using FMJ for my sealant. Don't know if Top Coat can top that, lol.

Reflections and Top Coat have some filling ability, but not as much as NXT. When it comes to hiding ability, NXT is king.

And its not even marketed that way! NXT may have some fillers, but in my exp., there short lived, and I think that also contributes to NXT's lack of ability to sustain duration. The Mothers Reflection line is simply one, if not the best OTC product available. And that would include the 4 I have tried. Advanced Wax, Tire Care, and Leather care, Spray Wax.

Its getting less and less difficult to whip these out while performing paid details also......

have been testing the Mother's Reflection line side by side against Zaino for less than a month.

Given that the preparation was the same for both I am having a hard time justifying the Zaino process over what I have done with Mother's Reflections line.

Beading is all but the same between Zaino and TopCoat. I find that the Reflections line darkens my black paint everso slightly. It certainly is easy on and easy off. The spray wax is relatively easy to apply if you are co-ordinated enough to squeeze and move to get a smooth even coat of product on the panel. I have to admit that sometimes I get it a little to heavy on the panel which makes a thicker layer. Have found no problem taking it off though after drying completely.

Z8 is definitely easier to apply. I can not tell by looking at the paint what is better. Both Reflections line and Zaino line have a great shine in my eye's. If there is any diference to note is the fact that Zaino is slicker than the Reflections line. Is that important...? I am not sure???

Hi All,

I used Advanced Top Coat on top of Natty's Blue with amazing results. The paint has both a glossy and deep shine. I think you can layer the Top Coat without any problems. Mothers makes an excellent product!

IMO Zaino should bead water longer but if your willing to apply every 3 to 4 months then use the Reflections. I've heard figures of up to 10 months or longer for Zaino. I'd describe Topcoat as warmer and slightly less reflective than Z. Both look great on pewter.

Where are you guys buying these products locally..I have looked for the Tire Dressing..But I cant find it anywhere..Some of the products are at a local Auto Parts store but not the tire dressing :( Any ideas? Or is my best bet to order online..Thanks for the help! Anyone got pics of tires dressed with the advanced line?

If you love a brighter look, you can fine tune the appearance of Reflections using FX- Spray Wax over it. It will remain just as warm, but more reflective.

Pepboys should have it.

I love FX Spray Wax over just about anything

I've been using NXT/FMJ combo for a "quick" touch-up wax after my washes, and I love it. Even though NXT does not last long by itself, I find that it lasts a lot longer with FMJ on top.

What do you guys think about NXT/Reflection Car Wax/FMJ combo?

Or maybe I should save myself some money and replace FMJ with Top Coat?

I have the reformulated NXT paste* and I get 3-4 months of easy durability even on daily drivers.

*although it was VOC-compliant from the first go

Pepboys should have it.

Unfortunately many PepBoys have only a select number of the Mothers Reflections line-I've tried all of the ones in Atlanta, Georgia to no luck. I did find the tire product at a local Lexus dealer...

Some have found it easier to spray if they warm the product first. From what I gather, the Reflections Spray Wax probably works best when sprayed onto the applicator rather than the panel...like the NXT Spray Wax.

To me that defeats the purpose of a spray wax. Reflections and Top coat are SO good and SO easy to apply, I'd forego the spray and just reapply Top Coat when needed. It takes the same amount of time. :xyxthumbs

FX Spray Wax is another story - that really is quicker...like QD quick. :bolt
