Mothers Powerball Question

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but i gotta learn somewhere.....is the Mothers powerball best used to apply polish to my chrome wheels as stated in the directions, and whipe with a towel, used to remove and buff the polish off after applying by hand, or have two so i can apply, and remove with the seperate powerballs?
 
I'm going to go a little further with the OP's question.



Does it really matter what brand of polishing ball you use? I.e. Mothers, Flitz, etc? Is one just as good as the other? And do you think they're actually worth the purchase. First off, my exhaust tips on my TL are in BAD shape, and I'm wondering if it's just as easy to do by hand.



Also, I have a tube a Wenol (Red tube) I just received...how does this stack up against all other metal polishes? Sorry for the hi-jack.
