Mothers and Pinnacle

Well, my sister brought her new Explorer by today. I had sealed it with Klasse SG back when she bought it a few months ago, but the paint on the front was rough and in need of claying. So today she brought over some clay and we washed and clayed it. The clay was Mother's, and it is great. It is better than the Meguiar's clay. It doesn't streak and it smells better. For some reason the Meg's clay always makes me feel queasy. It has this sort of sickly sweet smell to it that really affects me. The Showtime was nice stuff, but had a tendancy to be hard to buff if some of the mist dried. I then put on a coat of the original Blackfire and then a coat of #26. It looked really nice. I've had a sample of Pinnacle vinyl/rubber protectant for a little while now that I've been reluctant to use. It smells like coconut, which is not how I want my interior to smell. I decided to try it out today, and I used it on the exterior plastic trim on her car and it works great. It isn't at all greasy (it feels even better than #40) and leaves a totally natural finish. I was really pleased with it. If only it didn't smell... It did get me thinking that I'll try it on my interior next time. I mean, #40 has a chemically smell, but it goes away after about a day. Maybe the coconut smell will vanish quickly too. So thumbs up to Mother's and Pinnacle. Every Pinnacle product I've tried has been first rate, and my first experience with a Mother's product was a great one.

:up Pinnacle is kind of like Zaino - most if not every product they make is first rate. I have yet to be disappointed.

I agree about the Mother's Clay Bar, it is excellent. I used it on a 2000 silver Jeep Grand Cherokee on which the hood felt a bit rough, hit it with the Mother's Clay Bar and it was smooth as glass. And like you said it just feels better to work with over other clay bars I've tried.

I also love the Mother's Clay Bar. Does its job and it doesn't streak.

I also love Mother's Instant Detailer. It takes a bit of practice to learn how to use it without getting streaks but it produces one of the slickest surfaces I've seen from a quick detailer.
