Mother speed tire shine.

PA DETAILER

DETAILED TODAY?
I have to call it like I see it. Used this Sunday just to try something different. It was really glossy, so I knocked down the shine as stated after 10 min with a old MF towel. After my trip to work Monday and inspected the Xterra this morning, it was littered with some of the worse sling shots I have ever seen from a tire shine product. Had to do a emergency wash this morning to remove them. Stripped the Mothers off, took some doing being it is silicon based, and reapplied the true and tried Gyeon tire. Mothers makes some fine products, but this is not one of them. It would work great for the average consumer that is in a hurry or really does not care about sling. My guess it would last quite some time without re applying.

Thanks. Sling and gloss is the worst. I`ve been going w PERL and Poorboy`s Bold and Bright.

You do like the Mother`s Tire Cleaner though correct? I think you did a brief review on it.

INDEED. Had to use it this morning to clean the tires along with my yellow 3D degreaser. Yes, the mothers tire renew is a great product.

And I wanted to add, the 3D Yellow is the best degreaser I have used for tires at 1:4 I would and will by another gallon.

I`ve been using LA`s Totally Awesome APC for tires. It`s a buck or two at my local Dollar Store. I give the tire a once over w LA then follow it w Tuf Shine Tire cleaner. I love Tuf Shine but it`s a bit expensive.

I`d ping Forrest for some tips on application. Mother`s really makes great products and they may have some good ideas as to what went wrong. Worth noting though is the fact that tires behave differently. I loved Mother`s FX, but just noticed it is now disconintued. PERL is probably my go-to for looks but it really does little in terms of protection. I had a set of Michelins with terrible cracking after 3 years of the stuff. I absolutely love how Hyperdessing looks, but it gets obliterated as soon as it rains.

I agree with Dan on Hyerpdressing - looks great but does not last in rain or after a wash. Trying something unconventional (CG Undercarriage) on one of my tires to see how it will hold up to some rain (and on the black skirting of the Taurus).

I coated with my with Tuff Shine. They always look good, but if I want a little pop after a wash without using more Tuff Shine, Hyper dressing to the rescue. Need to get my new Continental`s cleaned up this weekend.

I used it on my truck, and the first time it rained it was gone, BUT it works great on faded vinyl siding LOL
