Mother in-laws car burned in Gas station fire

Wow, that sucks. At least it was her car not her. The car is easily replaced. There was a weird gas station incident in Dover the last weekend. Someone drove into a gas station support column and the building collapsed on the car.Only in NJ does stuff like that happen.

haha, christ, you guys arent even allowed to pump your own gas and you STILL find a way to set a gas station on fire:bigups
 
I'll echo memnuts comment in that it's just the car and she's fine. That's still probably a tough phone call to take though, I'd be incredulous ("What, my car is lost in the fire?")

Hopefully she'll make out in the deal! I hope the station's ins. policy takes the hit and not hers. She shouldn't have to suffer a bump in premiums because of this.
 
I went to get my car filled. I drove into between the pumps and drove over a wet area and then some guy starts waiving his hands. I ended up several pumps sections away to re-fuel.

As I arrived they had just turned off a pump that would not shut off while fueling. The driver had left his car (a nice new charger) unattended with the gas running and the gas that covered the area under his car and a lot went into the next set up pumps (it was downhill slightly so the gas went that way).

The convenience store crew came running out with the granules (like kitty litter) and started spreading it around...with a metal shovel. this is actually when I really got concerned then. I expected some sparks, explosion, etc.

owner-->> ma'am there's been an accident involving your car

MIL --->>> what happened ? was anyone hurt?

owner ---> no ma'am no one was hurt but your car caught fire and burned down my gas station :wall

MIL --->> was the oil changed? and what time can I pick it up :lol2:

ok I couldn't resist ... glad no one was hurt, I'm sure she will find another car or Saturn ;)
