Most efficient way to strip off remaining sealant?

Is the going advice here still a 50/50 of IPA/water?



I ask because I've got DGPS + 845 sitting on my car, and I'd like to start from a clean slate and tinker with other LSPs. I don't imagine a Dawn wash would cut through all of that, and I'm not sure if cleaners present in Synwax FX / Reflections would do the trick, either. (Or will they? That'd be nice...)
 
I would go with a dedicated paint cleaner or a finishing polish. IPA would probably be more time efficient but seems like it might leave something behind.
 
Any good store-bought paint cleaners that are easy on/off? The paint's just been polished and does not need claying, so I'd like to not do any unnecessary work.
 
Or, on second thought: would Synwax's ( / Reflections's) cleaners do the trick? That'd certainly be the easiest way about it.

I think it has been proved that dawn does not hurt the paint, especially if you don't use it all the time. Using dawn a few times a year isn't going to do anything and there is no need to go spend 10 bucks on something you already have in the house.
 
Well, I think it's a pretty good bet that Dawn being high alkaline will dry out your rubber trim and seals. They are a lot more expensive then $10 to replace.



I just clay to remove whatever is on the paint. If there is a lot of layers of wax, then I'll use Pinnacle paintwork cleansing lotion to prep for sealant/wax. It works really nice and I think it's a little bit of a glaze as well.
