More Zaino for the Teg and a Blackfire'd Silverado

First up is my Teg...

Washed With PB SS&S, then did Zaino Z2 x 3 with the ZFX Accelerator. With the Z2 I noticed and enhanced 'gloss'...If I were gonna do it again, it would be Z5 x 6 total. I felt Z5 gave better depth for dark colors where the Z2 would look great on lighter colors due to the added gloss. Regardless, I'm not unhappy at all. I think it looks great. As it sits now,

-AIO
-Z5 x 3
-Z2 x 3

-WG Gel on tires, rims, wells, and plastic trim

I liked this shot because it's a commonly neglected area

Oh yeah, new suspension went in this week ;)

-Tokico Pro-Kit in the front...3 'dead' coils removed
-H&R Race Kit in rear
-KYB AGX 4-way adjustable shocks all the way around

It is a 2" drop all the way around. I went with stiffer in the rear, 1) I got a nice deal on the set and 2) A lot of suspension guru's believe stiffer in the rear for better cornering.

Anyways, Silverado is next!

Next up, my mom's new Silverado.

She picked it up a little over a month ago and due to the horrendo! weather, no detailing until now. I did the interior and engine on separate days this week, but they're pretty un-impressive...it's new for god sakes :)

Anyways, the paint was lightly swirled from the dealer...Anyone here surprised? The paint was pretty smooth though, so I didn't clay. My final processes were:

-PB SS&S Wash
-Menzerna Final Polish via rotary and LC polishing pad @ 1500rpm
-Blackfire Sealant by hand
-PB Trim Restorer on all black trim
-PB BnB on tires

For the Blackfire, so far I'm not crazy about it. The look is what many refer to as "artificial"...lots of reflection/gloss, but little warmth/depth. I don't mind the look personally, but the application and removal were not that fun. At first it went on great, but then I noticed a little didn't go a long way. I applied more, but had to stay as thin as possible. I tried removing per panel, then let the last batch sit for 15 mins...No matter what, still took effort...This isn't a final review, but just initial thoughts. More when I experiment.

So far the mods (for those who care) we have done...

-Removed "4x4" decals off rear fenders
-Removed "LS Quadra Steer" decal off cab
-Polished Billet Grille
-Polished Billet Bowtie
-Amber DRL's
-Sylvania Silverstar's (low/high beams)

On the way, chrome nerf bars, painted cap, tint the windows, Flowmaster exhaust, OE fog lights (w/Silverstars), and a rim/tire package.

Enjoy :)

New suspension and a drop for the TEG. Wow. Are you running out of things to upgrade at this point Sean? It looks perfect.

Hmmm...wonder what HREs would look like?

Typically awesome work, Sean. Marred from a Chevy Dealer??? Come on ;)

Actually, I'm sorta of glad for Chevy dealer delivery conditions since that's how we met in the first place...

Anyway, the Teg looks hot. Cant wait to see it with the "Summer" kit and the new drop. Santa brought me the Zaino Pro kit (basically one of everything they have). If we get another day like yesterday I'm gonna do up the Maxx with the new Zaino formulations and see how it looks. I only did the small trunk lid yesterday (my nephews were up for the holidays) with the New Z5 and Z2Pro, and it really works well with the dark paint and flake.

Anyway, hope your New Year was great and everything is well...the friend I told you about is taking care of what we discussed. It will be a year to remember....

:angel

Lee: :D ...I am doing a stereo system this week and hopefully a high flow b-pipe in the near future. Liz and I are on a break now because we got way to caught up in the relationship. We don't set time for ourselves anymore and we got on each others nerves more times than we'd like. We both agreed that this winter break would be excellent to spend a lot of time on ourselves. I just hope it all works out :/

Craig: I was just soooooooooo happy they didn't buff it. Rather, they waxed it (ha!) and dressed the tires. The tire dressing was some solventy shit...It slung to the wells, rims, paint, and plastic trim. So bad, that it discolored the trim...Thank god for PB TS :) ...

I have been trying the stuff you gave me more and more...I'm not gonna lie, good stuff. I hear their leather conditioner is top notch as well. If you get tired of the Z, I'm only a phone call away :D

PS - Thanks for the help ;)

Sean, I know you got a bunch of Zaino samples can you tell me if you got the Z10 Leather In a Bottle? If so, can you tell me how well you liked it and how does it compare to 4Stars or any other conditioner. I really want to try Z10, but I would hate to pay the 7 bucks shipping and theres nothing else I need/want from Zainos.

Sean, the truck looks fantastic to me!

Your car always looks excellent, but so far I like menzerna on it best.

You should have used the FK1 sealant on the truck. :D

Corey: I have a silver truck coming up that I will give it a shot on.

joshcaro: I am a big fan of the 4* Leather Conditioner. I have a gallon of it. It leaves the look, feel, and overall performance I like. Maybe someone else can comment on it compared to others. I know Craigster uses it.

Tom: The FMJ/ Trade Secret look ?

I have plans for it, don't worry :) Any durability comments yet?

I would have to say my favorite combo on your car was the Ex/Nattys..I believe the infamous dripping wet pick was with that combo correct?

Also, so your saying 4 Star beats Z10? I just hear so much about Z10 and im trying to decide between the 2? Have you tried Z10 yet or you just happy with 4 star?

damn. Teg looks great. What kind of exhast do you have on there? and is it a gsr. Also, i think you should always keep it like that, screw the rims and lip kit. - just my opinion.

nice job as always. if the weather hold up and my body isnt too sore from working out, im gonna try FP II followed by a few coats of Z2 and ZFX on my silver ride to see what the added gloss looks like

Red has never looked sexier.

Is the Silverado a HD? It's puzzling because I see fender bulges in the rear and roof lights, but the truck itself looks like a 1500.

I'll start off with...Thanks for the compliments :)

joshcaro: Yup, those pics were great :) ...I have not tried Z10, just hear very good things. I have used Lexol and 4* and 4* supercedes IMO.

stluciedetail: Yup, it's a GSR...Spoon Sports N1 Exhaust...I am definately contemplating selling my lip kit/red rims and just getting a set of nicer rims for winter. I am tired of worrying about every bump and every driveway I go to.

zesty: I think you will be a very happy guy.

truzoom: It's a 1500 with Quadra Steer, hence the rear fender bulge. I think the lights on the roof were an option.

I know you asked Sean but I have used both 4Star and Zaino leather conditioners and Zaino is the better of the 2 and worth the money.... definitely get a few bottles to save on shipping, you won't be disappointed.

The scent in Z10 last a long time, where 4star tends to dissipate rather quickly.

I did a comparison between the two conditioners and both are comparable in everything (cleaning, application, etc) expect the leather smell, Zaino is better then 4Star.

I put Zaino in my truck and a month after the application I can still smell the leather scent. With 4Star the leather scent dissipated after about a week.

When I use Z10 on other peoples seats I always get feedback on how great the leather smells and how their car smells brand new again!

Yes, that is it. (FMJ)

no comments yet, since I haven't seen the cars. I did see the black RX300 but didn't get a chance to "feel" the paint. I have to redo My girlfriend's van since she """HAD""" to use paper towels on it to get rid of a 12x8 bird poop while at VA beach. I will use FK1 on it AND my rotary and that way I'll know how good it is.

joshcaro: I'm hooked on the Z10. It will give the car the smell of a leather shop for sure. On my old Acura I did a year long test on the back seats which got equal usage. The seat with the Z10 looked newer showing much less wear, and the leather was softer to the touch. Z10 leaves a nice matte sheen, making the laether look new(er), not shiney or fake like some glossy products would. The shipping fees are nasty for a single product. If you want to try the Z10, I would get either the Z-16 tire gloss (ask Sean about it...), the Z-12 Clearview Glass polish, or the Z6 Ultra Gloss Enhancer. They are all excellent products and can compliment whatever else you are using. I've had great success using Z6 over UPP, EX, NXT. Keeps everything shiny and slick between jobs. At least the shipping doesn't hurt as much with a few other bottles.

Sean: Don't worry about the call..You know I'm going to need you to fix my springtime polish :)
