mold coming through leather seats

Customer called me with this problem: Customer left windows open while shopping during the hugh rain storm we had in the Dallas area a few weeks ago. Then customer wiped down interior and left car in garage with windows roled up for a week while they were out of the country. Now mold is growing through the leather seats.



The only way I know of correcting the problem is to have the seats redone. Customer is going to contact their insurance company to report the damage.



Does anyone know of a another way to correct the problem and not hide the problem? Customer has talked to another detailing company and they said they could recondition the leather. This will not fix the problem since the mold is in the cushion. I recommended to have seats redone. Any help would be great!

If it's not a joke Meguiars makes a mold release wax as in a wax to release a part from a mold, not mold as in the green stuff.



As to the problem I would strip the covers, allow the covers and foam to dry completely then move on from there.
 
A little work involved here...



Take out the seat, remove the leather seat cover, spray with a 10% bleach and 90% water solution on the foam that the leather covers, then spray with ValuGard's Odor Terminator, spray the underside of the seat cover with Odor Term and the top side as well.



This will kill off the mold and not damage the leather seat cover.



After a couple of days, check if the mold is gone, condition the leather with which ever leather conditioner is available.
