Mobile pressure washer setups

I plan on going mobile this spring and I`m setting up my van now, I`m curious what you guys do for your pressure washer systems I`m looking to have a 100 gallon tank feeding my washer, do you guys run right off the tank using a siphon or do you have a pump? Also how do you power the pump, any one have any pics?

I run an electric pressure washer and run a hose to my customers water. I’ve heard of people running pressure washers simply gravity fed as long as the tank is higher than the pressure washer (pumps are considerably better at pushing than pulling).

If gravity fed wont work you’ll want to look into an on demand pump that you can either power from your generator if you have one (110v) or you can tie into your vehicles electrical system with a 12v pump. This will drain your vehicles battery so you will need to take that into account, possibly leaving the engine running to keep it charged

Unless you`re washing 100 cars a day, a simple 12v on demand pump will not put any appreciable demand on your vehicle`s battery. If you`re washing let`s say 4 cars a day, your pump will only be powered for maybe 20-25 minutes total max. It`s probably similar to leaving your radio on for 20 minutes.

That being said, we run a 100 gallon tank with a 12v Shurflo on demand pump. I have my trailer wired to the vehicle for power, but I also have a Group 27 battery installed in the trailer to power the pump and lights for those rare occasions when we might need to unhook the truck and run an errand while work is still being done out of the trailer.
