Hey everyone

Just like a Bunch of people on here(I think). I have been seeing those pop up canopy's on ebay for arround $179 free shipping. and you gotta ask yourself "what kinda crappy tent cover could this be for $179 shipped for a 10x15 canopy?"

So for a few months now I have been contemplating on getting one for when people ask me to come to them for details. I didn't want to spend $900 on a 10x10 EZup pop up tent, but I needed somthing.

Well I bit the bullet and Decided to get it with all of these mobile jobs that are coming up.

I took some photo's and decided to do a write up and review

so here it goes. I wanted to post this where the most people could see it because alot of people have probly seen it on ebay but didn't want to maybe waist there money.

I bought the 10x15 red roof black walls canopy

I recieved a BIG ol' 80lb box in my driveway all busted up (sorry no pics)

and I begin to slice open all the tape

When I opened the box there was a BIG GREEN caring case that the zipper fell off and the threads holding it together at the end were unraveling.

and I said"that no biggie its just a cheap caring case"

So I took out the tent and and out poped was just the metal accordion like frames all put together. then the red top was rolled up and the black walls were rolled up also.

So I tried to pull up and out on the two corners and then goto the other side and do the same. It was pretty difficult. then I tried throwing the red top over it and that was a dumb idea too.

So I went to get some lube to slicken up the polls that were saposed to slide up and lock in place.

once the lube was on it each corner stretched out easily and popped right up

I had to thrown the red top over the whole thing and velcro it to the corners.

Finnally I got it up! (thats what she said!:hifive:)

and then extended the legs to the fullest extent (very wobly at this hight)

It extended up to 6.5' in the center.

Alot of the sowing on some of the velcro curtains were real cheap and would un ravel.

The first time I put it up It took about 25 min

the second time I put it up it took 5-10 min.

I really like it and for $179 shipped It is great and will get the job done

here are some pics

This is 3 out of 4 walls put up(very easy)

I really like the side windows

The top is held down by these straps all arround

this is the highest setting that it can be raised and it gets a little flemzy. So take it down one more level. and you can still fit most vehicles under it.

This peice right here fell off ( bad sowing)

One curtain is a wall and one has a zipper

here is the other wall before I velcroed it up

This is it with out walls Which took me 3 minutes to pop up and stretch out(VERY VERY EASY AND QUICK)

And with all four legs extended I fit my Chevy astro van underneith it with out 4-5in to spare.

Over all rating 8 out of 10

Pro's

1: VERY CHEAP

2:Easy to put up after the first time (if you lube all the parts that slide)

3:You can take the red top to get your Logo put on it for advertisement

4: It's not $900 for a 10x10 like ez-up

5: you can have walls with windows or roll them up and have a cool breeze

6: Full closed in tent with all four walls

Con's

1:Cheap threads, and sowing! a few peices have fell off(nothing big and can easily be fixed with a little thread and needle

2: 80lbs. it is pretty heavy but It slides right into my van

3: the carring case is garbage, just go ahead and throw it away

first time putting up take a few minutes and you might need some help from someone.

anyways I could have taken more pics when I unboxed it but I didn't have my camera there so thanks and I hope this helps alot of people.

here is the link for them and there ebay store

The tent I have

Their Ebay store

i have 12x12 with $89 pep boys with sale on it and cupon. $25 are the weights , that u may need too.

agree 15 ft is way better. don`t forget the weights.

Get yourself four 5 gallon buckets, fill them with bricks or rocks and put them on the "feet" and run a bungee cord tight up to the frame also. This way the thing doesnt move if you get a good breeze where you are working.

I dont know about 5 gal buckets filled with bricks. that just doesn't seem like the professional look that I want to send out. good idea, but I am trying to work up to very expensive cars and I dont see people w/ exotic or high end cars asking a guy to come work on their porsche or benz with bricks and a bucket. Not trying to offend anyone. I just want to have a real professional look. Those weights on the bottom is a great idea.

looks good man! I have a tent like that but without the sides and mine is 12x12 . . . . you scored by getting those couple of extra feet and sides. Nice deal!

Just but the bricks in and put a lid on and paint the buckets black or get black buckets and it'll blend right in and put your logos on the buckets.

they do sell weights that strap on to the bottom area . . . . . . in your case though since you are worried about image you have to get creative with what you do.

How does it hold up to 20-30 mph winds which never seem to let up around here?

Not sure, over here in TN we have to many ridges and wind doesn't get that strong?

Yeah I have seen those. I'll have to look for some locally. I would hate to pay for shipping on all of those weights .

Just fill the buckets with water. 5 gal. of water = 40lbs.

if you're mobile, weight is your enemy. at least for me it is. i would hate to waste 10 or 20 gallons to fill up a few buckets to hold down my canopy.

which $900 10x10 EZ ups are you talking about? My parents used to have one around the house and i know they didnt pay more than ~$300 for it

just get some ankle weights from big 5 or wal mart. wrap them around each base. you wont even see them, especially if they are black

That is what I was wanting to try but I wasn't sure it they would hold u to the hard gust of wind

Great review, 8% Bing cash back makes it an even better deal, I just might have to pull the trigger on this one. Just cant do a detail in full Florida sun.

This... then you don't have to worry about lugging around four 5 gallon buckets filled with 50lbs of cement. lol And I'd worry more about not having weights on the legs while detailing a $100K car... don't wanna go for the "doesn't think things through" look... LOL Actually to be honest I wouldn't want to see a $100k car under there even with loaded 5 gallon buckets... those legs look very flimsy any kinda gust of wind and you'll be detailing for free for a few months to fix the damage. lol

On the flip side, this does look like a good thing for car shows and camping and stuff...

Awesome review, I should mention keep an eye out at Home Depot. Nearly every holiday they have sales for over the summer include a 10x10 canopy for $75-99
