Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience mixing M105 with OHC? I love the way Meguiars cuts and the way Optimum Hyper Compound lasts and wanted to know if anyones experimented mixing the two...

Thanks

ps I called Meguiars to ask them if they thought it would be a good idea and they said no. I don't know if they didn't want me to try the Optimum or just thought it was a bad idea with no bias.

Companies don't want you mixing products together, since it can cause the product not to work properly. Or too the product specs of cutting/polishing will change.

I have used M105 with a little OP on the pad to help cut out dusting. Works like a charm.

re: cheapshot
I just want to extend the work time without it flashing over too guickly. In a garage setting I'm able to work it with two passes but in the sun its nearly impossible without using some kind of primer(QD, water, ...)

are you using a rotary? I have only used them with flex DA.

I found that this pass week temps around 65-70, the polishes works much better(a slightly longer work time and much less dust if any). They really just don't like the heat. I also found after priming the pad, I only use a few very little dots. My first few attempts, I got good results, but I think I wasted a bit of polish, and had to clean my pad more often. I still clean it real quick as it only takes a few seconds.

i laugh when people get all wierd about mixing products .. i think it shows a desire to achieve the ultimate finish possible and the person doing the job says basically ...this is not good enough/fast enough and i think i can make this faster/better .. i do it and the results are awesome .. ive been bashed for it and just laugh .. its not like you are cooking meth and its gonna blow up in your face .. worst case is maybe you waste some product ..
