im gonna be using ssr 2.5 by hand with a terry cloth folded up. Is it ok to mist the pad with some QD or let the terry towel be dry?

I don't think that it will be necessary. Give it a try on a section and see if it is easier for you. One things for sure, by hand you are going to have to follow up with a final polish, SSR1 would be great.

I think that would be perfect!! Post pics, good luck!

Nothing like a Saturday with new detailing products and good weather. :)

i tired using the ssr 2.5 on problem spots but is seemed like it put more scratches on the paint. i was doing this by hand with a terry towel folded up. did i not sure enough of the ssr ? put like a 7cm line of the stuff on half of my trunk lid. any suggestion ? ill post some pics up after i get my camera back

A couple of things to check:

Make sure that the bottle was shaken really well

Make the sure the applicaion material was OK. 100% cotton, made in the USA, and soft. I would recommend royal velvets or charismas, but they are pricey and hard to find nowadays. Make sure that towel doesn't have any decorative trim on it that could be inducing the marring

Make sure that you are working the product enough to break it down. You are really going to have to work the 2.5 to get it to break downn by hand. Anything that hasn't properly broken down will cause marring upon removal.
