Mini-Review: Prima Hydro Wax As You Dry Spray

Another great review as always, you always have good details, and yes, I too, like the format you use. I may have to borrow the format for any of the future reviews I my write.

Be sure to give Corey credit for the format. Apparently, people are watching. ;)

Ha! Yeah some people are hardcore I guess, you have to get an MLA book to cite it properly on your next review.

On a more serious note, thanks again for the review, stuff curious about durability. I have some Hydro seal that I havent used yet, need to get this product to follow up when drying to keep the look of the product but wanted to see how I liked the hydro seal before I bought the hydro.
Thanks again!

I credit Corey with the format in the Intro of each review. If someone else deserves credit for the format, let me know and I'll be happy to include that as well.

Thank you very much for another great review!! Very nice :rockon and equally for the crediting of format. It's appreciated as I did spend a good deal of effort and continuous refinement over time in it's development.

I like the format, I just think credit is due when credit is deserved. :D

Thanks for looking out for me buddy! He did indeed mention it was my format but thanks again. :).

Oddly, the gallon size of Hydro Wax is not price competitive with Optimum's or Duragloss's comparable product. That is likely to stop me from making it my main spray wax product.

Thanks everyone.

I short update. The ACC description mentioned that the look improves after the 24 hour cure. It does - this morning was absolutely pure reflections. That is until I pulled out of the garage into a light, misty rain. These are normally the worst because it spots & cements all of the dust to the car like concrete requiring me to wash the same day. I came out and found no spotting or dust on the car at all!! Looks almost as good as this morning. I am very impressed.

If this really keeps dust off of my car like today over the next couple, it will become my go to drying aid and topper.

Update:

Responses (especially in the beginning) to this thread didn't go as I'd hoped. Notably, one of my questions was "had other forum members tried it as a drying aid with a rinseless?" As no one answered this, I decided to try it.

First off, a week after applying and my car had collected far less dust than normal. It had less dust after a week than I typically see in a day! Now, the weather may have had something to do with it but it seems like an auspicious start.

So, I did my normal rinseless with CG HFEW except substituted a couple of spritzes of distilled water + a couple of spritzes of Prima Hydro for the OCW or a QD after the first drying pass and then followed with the second. I added a quick buff with a 3rd MF. (Note - I'm not sure the distilled water spritz was actually necessary but my first drying pass leaves the surface pretty dry.) If worked flawlessly: flashed quickly and left a fantastic glossy & slick finish.

I'm extremely happy with Prima Hydro. So much so, I bought the company! jk (Old Remington shaver ad) I did order another gallon even though I'm only about an ounce into my initial quart purchase.

Nice review. This is something to look at when the weather gets a little nicer around here. I've been using GG SOW and it works as a drying aid and is also cheap, especially when it's on BOGO but really lacks when it comes to durability.

So you did the rinseless process and then while still wet (before you dry), you sprayed the surface with the Hydro and then you dried?

It was in the semi-dry state. I use 2 MFs to dry. The first one removes the bulk of the rinseless (and picks up whatever I might miss from the Bone). I use a medium nap MF. The surface is generally not completely dry at this stage. Then I apply the drying agent and finish it off with a second MF. Note - both of these are 16x16s and the second towel finishes nearly dry.

With the added distilled water, the second towel wound up need to wrung out twice and the 3rd buffing MF was (nearly) dry.
