Milwaukee Cordless Long Throws

Just wondering if anyone has seen any reviews out there for Milwaukees Cordless 15mm or 21mm DA`s that are coming out?

Not a tool I need, but curious how it compares to other offerings out there.

I had a conversation with someone who worked with the prototypes in a shop environment. He seemed to really like them.

”I’ll always want to have a rupes machine around. Nothing beats that in the market right now. But for $350 you can’t beat the convenience of a strong battery powered machine. It’s supplementary to a rupes corded machine but not better. But a lot of people can be plenty happy with this Milwaukee polisher as a standalone machine. Especially diy guys. And for detailers at a shop, it’s nice to pick up a machine really quick and not have to plug in.“

Thanks for sharing.

I`m strictly recreational, hence it`s not a tool I need. I`ve got a Griot`s G9 and G8 that work just fine for me, and honestly I don`t even use them enough to justify considering another machine. But, I`ve long contemplated a longer throw tool, and cordless would always be nice.

The other thing that`s made me actually consider getting one is that I could buy it from a tool vendor at work who`s a great guy, but considering I`ve been wrenching for 20+ years my new tool purchases have pretty well tapered off - I don`t have a lot I need to buy from him. This could be one of those good-will-help-support-the-little-guy kinda purchases.

Been curious how the Milwaukee stacks up against the Flex, Dewalt, etc. Big perk for adding a Milwaukee to my collection would be the ability to use those batteries on other tools I own.

I`ve got a boatload of tools.....mostly M18. Even SDSPlus M18 hammer drills that let my German Metabos and Hilti`s gather dust..

However, convenience aside, I dunno if the battery polisher is in the works when using it to --polish paint--. I suppose it would okay on vertical panels but horizontal with a back heavy battery.....

On the flip side, I love cordless tool. M18 angle grinder has let me use in in 50 different directions/applications, I would never hold the tool in use with a corded.

If you already in the line and have a few M18 batteries you gotta get it.

I see what happened here Flex dropped there whole new tool line and pissed off the big red now Milwaukee is going to expand into Flex’s bread and butter!!

No issue here using a cordless DeWalt Long Throw. Very comparable to the older Griot`s BOSS G15, IMO.

That`s why i got the DeWalt. Already had a handful of their 20v tools.

Interesting! I wonder if that`s what happened? hehe. - But, credit to Milwaukee for being the first (at least in the States) for having a cordless polisher. They brought out the cordless rotary back in 2016

If you have a DeWalt, you can save money by buying Waitley batteries on Amazon. They might run a couple minutes shorter time but the price is about half of a Dewalt battery.
