microfiber towel help

Bringing this thread back from the dead. Based on what I initially read on Autopia's guides, I've always washed my MF towels on COLD water and dried them on a low heat setting. Now I'm finding that they simply don't absorb anymore, they merely push water around. Is this from washing them on cold and therefore, not removing all the wax residue? Will washing them on HOT fix this?

i always wash mine with other mf towels only using MF detergent. once clean, i tumble dry them on the low setting twice, as they're still real damp after the first time. half way through the second drying, i switch to no heat at all and just let them tumble.

this method has worked extremely well for me in keeping my towels in very good shape. g/l!

Hot water will clean better, so natually this is what I use. What's my definition of hot? About 120 degrees, which is what my hot water heater is set to. I also dry my towels until they're completely dry. I simply don't have the space to hang 30 towels at a time. I also don't have the time to wait until all 30 are dry.

Post member spilchy in post #20 said it well.

I think for someone who is new to microfiber can get confused very easily, as opinions vary on this topic. The key to remember is do what works best for you, and what you feel comfortable with.
