Microfiber mits

I was just wondering if anybody used Microfiber mits for washing their car? I saw some on PAKSHAK and I was wondering if they were for washing and/or for buffing ect. ?

big debate on whether they are safe or not for washing because as david mentioned in his ebook, they do not release dirt as easily and should be left to polish and wax removal. However, pakshaks are probably different mitts than the rest, better quality i assume. I prefer sheepskin eurow mitts from walmart because they are very plush, pass the cd scratch test, and last about 6 months with normal washings.

What do they[sheepskin] run $$ wise? I kinda went a little overboard ordering products tonight need to watch the wallet...

$4.99 at your local walmart. Always make sure you do a light wash or rinse of the mitt b4 you use it on your paint to ensure that all the particles are removed b4 you use it on your paint. Heck, do a cd scratch test first if your still unsure.

no, do not machine wash, do it by hand. Im sure you can machine wash it, but most of the time, I think youd be safer not to because I have heard stories of it shrinking(course that could be machine drying, i don't know). If you use cold water and say, woolite in the machine, then i think you would have no problem. However, id still prefer to do it by hand.

by the way, save your receipts for that mitt, bc if you want a new one 2 months later, you could always say at walmart that your mitt was falling apart(happened to me a bunch of times), and just get a new one. Obviously, only do it once otherwise your basically just using and abusing, but thats what i do with products that just don't make the cut or live up to the quality they claim.

I did a review of the Pakshak MF mitts. It can be found in the Detailing Product Discussion Forum.

I really like the mitts. I am not sure if they are meant to be used for washing but for polishing and wax removal they are great. They are just as plush as the other Pakshak MF's.

I use the Classic Motoring MF wash mitt and it works great! I rinse it out really well between washing panels, and of course use the two bucket method so no dirt gets in the wash water. I have not seen any "new" scratches or swirls in my paint.

I use the PakShak mitt for washing with no problems, never a scratch. The only problem is those MF strands grab dirt and wont let go, you have to kind of keep an eye on them and manually pick the dirt out. I'd probably change to Sheepskin or Chenille but I havent found anything locally that seems high quality.

I use the MF Wash Mitt with QD's. It lets me know where a spot (tree sap, etc.) may need attention. Otherwise I like the Sheepskin over the Cotton Terry. The Sheepskin does take forever to dry though - the inside leather. I've used the MF Wash Mitt for washing but I do worry about grabbing a piece of something that could scratch.
