Microfiber, Makin' the switch (My new view of MF)

Ranney, since you are here, I have a question.

Do you recommend using Oxiclean on your towel? After my first use of MF, I can't get rid of stain. Do you think it's safe to use the oxiclean at all?

btw your towels worked wonderfully on Zaino. Thank you.

Hi MildSeven, :)

Regarding your question on Oxiclean. Actually, I have used it before on some mf towels that were stained and it did help a little on the stains. However, I had noticed that not all of the Oxiclean was dissolved in the wash water so the mf towels did have some white specks of Oxiclean embedded between the fibers. IMO, the mf towels also felt a little stiffer. So I resorted those mf towels to dirty work. So to answer your question, I would not recommend Oxiclean...IMHO. Similar to powder laundry detergent, not all of the powder might dissolve so it may get embedded in the mf towel. Which will harden as it is dried and could possibly causes scratches (swirls) in your paint.

Best bet is to soak your mf towels in a solution of liquid laundry detergent and warm water for about 30 min to 45 min. And see if that helps. If that does not get the stain out then I'm sorry I would say the stain(s) is locked in. But it should still be safe to use the mf towel on your paint as long as the stain has not stiffen.

I hope I answered your question.

With Aloha,

Ranney

Every MF towel I have seen have rough binding on the corners...looks like the binding thread is melted. I think this would scratch the paint work badly.

This has stopped me from using MF. Are the towels from PakShak any different?

I have noticed this myself. There seems to be a tiny little ball of melted/fused poly material from the stitchings used to serge the towels. I believe I got them on mine from using the dryer (even at the lowest setting).

The towels from PakShak are stiched wonderfully and do not have this problem.

About this melted corners issue, I was doing some reading last night and stumbled across this thread:

melted corners on MF?

In it JT International posted the reason why the corners were melted. Apparently the manufacturer thought this was a good way to stop the corners from fraying and didn't tell him. I wonder if the towels you guys have had similar issues? :nixweiss

Hi Corey, :)

Sorry for the inconvenience. The website was actually working earlier today. I have already opened a trouble ticket with our service provider. If you have any questions, please private message or email me.

Thank you & Aloha,

Ranney

I tried to get into Pakshak website but only could get into the main page.

I have pm Ranney on the discount offer for autopians, hope you reply soon Ranney:D .

I did see that he is to get waffle weave soon!! How much would it cost? Interesting.

For all those still on the sidelines on MF, trying to decide where to buy, Go for the Pak Shak, I tried nearly every other supplier to the point it became an obsession, none can even compare. Even the overproced Griots, Big Blue, I tried literaly every one I could

Its been 2 months, they all have been washed more times than I care to count, still look as good as the day the arrived. Pak Shaks are easily twice as thick as the majority of the MF's you see elsewhere, clean up great and dealing with Ranney makes the deal even better.

I promised some PICS to you Ranney, my new 325, with some NYC skyline in the background, I haven't forgot just had some horrible weather and busy work schedule, I will get them to you with a great testimonial for your website
