Micro marring with Poliseal, anyone else having issues?

My L5-S1 is killing me!
I used PS on 2 vehicles recently, my Acura Integra (soft ss paint) and a newer Maxima (cc and moderately hard paint) with my PC, speed 5, with a 4" cyclo green pad (light polish). Tried working it for long and short times. On both cars it left a speckled hazy finish where you could see the abrasives had marred the paint.

As an experiment, I tried OP, Kaio and FPII on the Acura using the same pad, process etc all all finished out much better. Am I using PS wrong or have others seen this issue?
 
ive used poli on a gray pad (rotary) on my 02 rsx, very soft paint. I think using the green pad is what might be causing the micro marring, i dont work poli in more then 10-15sec, i just go over the paint till i cant see it anymore (which is very quick) then i just whip off.
 
I've had problems with the green Cyclo pads marring paint with many polishes, especially on car with softer paints. The Edge green Cyclo pads seem to be much better.

I too, had mixed results with Poli-Seal. Like you, I tried it with various machines/pads and never could get results to come out as well as using a final polish like FPII. After various attempts, I gave up, and use other products.
 
Dunno, I think I must have great pads because I've never marred any paint with OPS. And the softest was the "mighty" Honda Nighthawk Black (marred with MF).



OPS performs very reliably, consistently for me.
 
I also had micro-marring issues today using my Cyclo with the green Edge Cyclo pads while poslishing a couple Toyotas. I had micro-marring problems with both Optimum Poli-Seal and Chemical Guys All In One. I switched to the white pads and all was good, but I had to increase my work time to get the results I was after. The CG AIO sure does dust alot. I was just comparing the two products to see how similar they were. One of the Toyotas I was working on badly needed attention. I tried the Edge yellow Cyclo pads via Cyclo using Menzerna po106ff on one of the Toyotas and I was amazed how quickly it finished out to be completely swirl free.

IMO green LC pads are a bit too aggressive on some paints and colors and better gloss can be achieved by using a soft finishing pad
 
I have used it with LC orange, and white. Never had any marring. I usually use a little more product than they recommend to use.

Agree with the white pad and I also use quite a bit more product then other AIO type products but seems to break down quick.
 
I have had micromarring with a white, black, and blue pad (all finishing pads of varying degrees from different manufacturers) when using PS via PC. It really depends on the paint as I have had satisfactory results with the same on different finishes.



On soft paint, I can't make anything finish like PO106FF--nothing. On the softest of clears (the new solid black BMW's come to mind), finishing with a PC just isn't possible IMO.
 
seems like 106FF is the premier finishing polish for rotary/pc on soft and hard clear huh?



I dont get micromarring from poli but i get it from clean rags on my paint, (damn honda paint).
 
Hmm, sounds like alot of mixed results. I'll keep playing witht the sample I have to see if it will work out.

If the cyclo light polish green pad was so abrasive, I would have thought it would have marred with OP, KAIO and FPII I tried it with as well...

The green Cyclo pad isn't particularly aggressive but it has a weird cell structure compared to other polishing pads I have used. I had marring problems with it using #80 too on some softer paints.
