Michigan people (or anyone) Xceedspeed BBQ is coming!

Hey Michigan folks,

I am new to this forum and came here looking for advice on improving my detailing skills, especially in regard to scratch and swirl mark removal with a DA polisher.

I have studied this subject at length, mostly at the show and shine section of "bimmerforums.com".

I have used many detailing products such as 3m finesse it II machine polish, meguiars polishes, pinnacle polishes, etc. Unfortunately, I have been unable to achieve the kind of results that others regularly post pictures of. I have a meguiars step-by-step video which I learned from, but even that did not allow me the results I am looking for.

Ultimately, whenever I polish sections of the car, I can still see fine microscratches in the paint surface. It seems no matter which products/pads are used, there always seem to be some imperfections remaining.

I was wondering if there is anyone in Michigan that is on a professional level that wouldn't mind sharing some tips and trick to achieve a mostly swirl/scratch free paint finish.

Sorry for digressing from the original thread topic, but since the meet has passed and there are many Michigan people on this thread I though I would start here.

Thanks in advance for any support.

Jeff
