MF towel question...again..

I know this has been beaten to death around here, but I bought tons of vroom microfibers and after numerous washes I don't feel they are plush enough to buff polish/wax off my paint anymore...so I am asking what brand I should look into. (I also noticed my older Meguiars towels do a better job grabbing the excess wax and pulling it off as opposed to the vrooms)

I've read tons of threads and see pakshak and cobra mf towels popping up over and over...is there a specific style I should look into for wax/polish removal? Is 16x16 the going size around here or should I look into something bigger? Any other brands I should look into?

Every one I've gotten from PoorBoy's have been top shelf products.

16X16 works well for me.

Yeah they have a great rep! I dunno what happened. Wasn't worth sending them back. I am not recommending against them or any of their products. Actually they have one of the standout brands in ther biz. Thus my "probably a bad batch" comment.

There are plenty of great MF reviews in this forum. Check em out!

I know KnuckleBuckett does not like CG's Towels, But I absolutly think they are the best for all around use. I have tried many brands. The Adams KnuckleBuckett refer to are good also. But I'd check out the CG's.

elite microfiber

As long as you're buying from a reputable vendor, you'll be fine. There are too many to mention. My next order will be with Patrick at exceldetail.

I would stay away from any type of retail microfiber. Walmart, Target, K-mart, etc....

For that reason I only buy on-line. This is just my opinion though.

Pakshak's! As good as they get, and you can usually get a better deal on them than some of the others mentioned here.

some really nice microfiber towels that can be bought OTC at k-mart would be the green viking quick detailing towel, gold x-large mf drying towel, and orange edgeless polishing towel) which are just as nice as the boutique brands. also... the mothers line as well can be found at autozone... :2thumbs:

The Adam's,Pakshak,Poorboys are what I have and find them all to be excellent !! I also have the Vroom's and Costco that use for glass and all duties

I wasn't happy with the response from Chemical Guys when I was looking to buy MF towels. I ended up contacting Patrick at Excel Detail. Patrick was really helpful and I ended up buying about 3 dozen MF towels from him. Patrick is a great guy, is a super vendor, and has a superior product.

You can also check the Danase Buff Towels. They are really nice and soft, and Bob's CS is excellent! Can't go wrong either with any of the options given before.

You can check out Microfiber Tech (Microfiber Towels - Microfiber Mops - Microfiber Cleaning Cloths) - I used the double-sided MF in the 16X16 size. They do have a 16x24 size. (You need to call to ask) Thick pile for wax removal and thin pile to polish. They are excellent products and are the only products I use to remove wax and/or polish.

Erie Cotton Products (Microfiber and Microfiber Towels at Erie Cotton Products) sells an excellent MF for drying. It is HUGE (24X36) and run about $6/Towel...An excellent value...

The higher end MF's from all of our usual vendors are nice. I have nice MF's from Danase, Autopia, AG and Obsessive Detail.

I haven't purchased any MF towel's from any on-line stores since I discovered the Viking MF towels at KMart. I've got dozens of the one's BigAl3 pasted. I just wish that KMart would carry their WW MF towel and that they would also manufacture a smaller (say 16x16) version of the the green towel. The satin edging on a OTC towel is a big bonus.

Just keep checking your Sunday paper sales flyers and KMart you catch them having a 20% off sale on these Viking towels.

Timely posting. I got some more Vroom gray towels for Christmas and I was reading the care label and and it says machine wash warm (100F), no bleach, and do not tumble dry. So I wonder how you are supposed to dry them. My other towels (when there is a label) just say wash warm and low heat tumble dry.

I noticed my vroom gray towels are not as dimensionally stable as most other towels including the orange ones. They seem to shrivel a little -- edges curl -- but they seem to work fine.
