MF towel doesn't dry well

I tried using the Turtlewax MF wax/polishing towel, which is 16x16, to dry my car but it doesn't dry it well at all. Even after wringing it out as much as I can, when I pull it across a surface, it leaves water smears behind. Are MF towels supposed to suck up the water completely, or is that only the special waffleweave kind? I actually find drying with my turtlewax synthetic chamois works better.

Waffleweave are for drying your vehicle.

I use a combination of synthetic chamois (P21S) blotting and final wipe with a waffleweave MF. Works great!!

Yeah, get a hold of a waffleweave of some sort - BIG difference!

MF towels don't work well for drying I've also found. In fact, they're one of the poorer mediums I've tried using for that job....

Washing the towel first should help.

Do it by hand, let it air dry. Never use a fabric softener.

BTW, the 16x16 is not large enough to do the entire car...

I find the regular MF towels are great for buffing polish, wax, and for dusting - but they don't absorb large amounts of liquid (water) well.

I think I remember one of the things being touted when MF (terry) towels came out was that they hold so much water and are great for drying. I find some MF towels are very good at drying and some so-so, depends on where you get them. For instance my Neatitems towels dry very well, where my Pakshak towels don't (I use them for buffing mainly) with the Miracle towel in between.
