MF to AIO rims?

CMA site says to use the AIO residue that's left on your towel after AIOing the rest of the car to protect your rims.

Do you all really use the same MF to do your rims that you used on your paint, or do you just get a cheapo towel and use it for AIOing the rims? I use a seperate bucket and mit to wash my wheels so those items will never (even on subsequent washes) come in contact with the paint, so using the same cloth for both items for AIO seems a bit foreign. For those K users, f you use a MF on wheels do you use that MF on paint at some point in the future? I figure even washing may not get all the brake dust and other junk out of the MF.

Hi Medic,

I personally don't mix mf towels that I have used on my paint, windows, or rims. I use a inexpensive mf towel or a older mf towel that will not touch paint again. Like you had mentioned, I don't want to take the chance of brake dust or some other foreign object getting lodged in the mf towel. I have mf towels for just paint, windows, interior, and rims. Of course, color coordinated.

I wouldn't think you'd save more than about two drops of AIO by doing that. I always use seperate stuff for my wheels. Even when I've cleaned them well, there is still dust and crap back on the inside of the wheel. So I always act as though some of it may get on the pad by mistake. If it gives you peace of mind, I'd just use a wheel-only pad and use that little extra of AIO.

Penny wish ( using residual sealant) and possibly pound foolish ( potential surface marring) by using same applicator. I use different applicator and washing tools for wheels, tires, under carriage and wheelwells.:wavey

I apply AIO directly to my wheels and use a soft cotton towel that is used just for the wheels to remove the AIO. The AIO seems to really get the wheels clean while protecting them.
