Ok so I bought some DA cutting MFs pad and have been using them with my flex401 and let just say I dont like them very much at all so I'm probably doing something wrong.
I've tryed them with UNO v4, Menz everything, 3m ultafine, M105, M205, 3m perfect it and probably any of the 9 million products I have laying around.

I usually use at speed 5 and I've tryed alot of product, barely any, moderate amount and always same thing happens. Any cutting products SIP, Uno, Compound dry up to an un workable point in a few pass's. Polishing products dont seem to polish at all(I know it's a cutting disc but i've seen lots of you guys do this) So today is kinda chill sunday I finished a car from yesterday so I figure why not experiment, any tips? Thank you!

Which MF pads are you using? Have heard/read that Megs pads do not like the 3401. Opti Pads are a better match (which I don't care for on the GG6).

With my GG6 or PC (haven't tried them with the Flex yet): prime them, little product, slower speed (4 on GG6 and 4.5-5 on PC), light to medium pressure and slow arm speed. I don't vary the pressure much but do go a bit faster the final 2 section passes. Brush after each section and blow out with air every panel.

They are Megs doh, guess i'll order opti ones to try. Hey Todd any promo codes for me lol since my megs one's i ordered a month ago are bout to go in the trash :yay??? Thank you Mike!

I agree with the advice given. I will say my experience with the Meg's MF pads on PCxp is great. On a true DA that work very well so if you have a DA you may want to keep them.

I just used the OPT MF pads today with M105 and within 3 passes all defects were gone! I love these and now know what the big hype is about.

Hey Jsmooth all you need to know is on the post it :). They don't like speed, these shots are with Mothers compound only and OPT finishing pads. As you can see they finish off very nice. It's possible but I really doubt the Megs pads and the OPT ones are all that much different. I'll know soon I just ordered 8 of the Megs pads.

I haven't tried MF pads with a rotary, but the Meg's pads have longer fingers than the Optimum pads. This may explain why the effectiveness of the Meg's pads lose some of their effectiveness since the fingers are more likely to get crushed and stuck down. Too much product can cause that as well, which the Meg's pads seem to store more.

I like both pads. Just depends on the polish/compound I'm using and the way the paint is responding.
