If it runs at 18a continuous, I may install a 30a circuit w/ a 30a receptacle so it never trips. Your really not supposed to exceed 80% of a circuits capacity by design. A 20a circuit really shouldn't exceed 16a. Or a 15a not to exceed 12a.

With both motors running, I can confirm it does pull 18a. My Father in-law is also an electrician, confirmed 18a with his clamp meter, and suggested up grading to a 30a circuit for exactly the same reason you highlighted Shawn. Thing is, I don't use the MB often enough to warrant the upgrade *yet*. For now I try to be mindful about running both motors for extended periods of time etc.

I also condidered modifying the MB to 240v before even buying it.
That would lower it to a 9amp load. So you can go with a 20a 240v circuit.
If i can get to the wiring and series both motors. You will lose the single blower option and have one power switch turning it on full blast. (gotta make sure the switch is rated to handle 240v or just put one in that is).

ShawnF350- I dunno if I'd want to lose the ability to dial it back...there are times when I could imagine you could overdo the "more power!" thing, but then I have some "fragile cars" issues that others might not have to deal with.

Totally agree, that's why i probably won't go that option.

Moving the air outlet an additional foot away from the paint will decrease the force of the air by more than 50%.

In my opinion, this is not an issue.

allenk4- I find that doesn't always work all that well for me with my AirWand or the compressor, guess it's just one of those YMMV things...not that I've used a MetroVac, maybe it's a different situation with one of those.
