I detailed my friend's metallic green Mazda2 over two days while he was out of town. I did a complete inside and outside detail including paint correction and engine.

Optimum Car Wash
ONR diluted for clay
Griots clay
Porter Cable 7424 (original)
Meguiars M105 with Surbuf pads
Optimum Hyper Polish with Optimum MF polishing pads
Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant
Ultima trim cleaner on the exterior
303 Aerospace Protectant on wheels, interior, and engine plastics.

It wasn't too bad. It had those deeper swirls that appear to go in random directions, but it's a newer car so it didn't have too many problems. The metallic paint helped to hide them when it wasn't in direct sunlight. Essentially, I just had to focus on one type of issue to correct, which made things easier. I tried some lighter polishing combinations but they didn't touch the swirls so I had to step it up to the M105/Surbuf combination. I have a 5 year old PC 7424 that's not the XP model and it doesn't seem to be very efficient anymore. I am going to borrow a XP model and see if it's much different. Something just seems off as it was easier to get results when it was new. I wish I could justify spending $300 on a Flex DA, but I don't detail for a living.
 
That looks really great, like the Zoom Zoom 2's in that color! Great shine/flake pop.

I agree with Angelo, some of the newer Mazda's have rock hard clear coats.
