First detail from today and :2thumbs: to Bill for referring the SL to me! Hope the owner will let me do his DB9 next.
First up the SL. No before shots as we were dodging the rain pretty much all morning!
Wash with Sonax Extra Gloss
Clay with Erazer clay
Wheels - everything I had! Badly pitted and caked in brake dust inside
Paint - SSR2.5 & DAS green initially by PC then rotary (first time on a customer car - luvin the Makita 9227 big style!!!)
Meguiars #21 by PC and hand (to test for best application method - see below)
Collinite Marque D'Elagance by hand
Tyres Z16
Glass NXT Glass Cleaner
Leather with Turtle wax leather cleaner/conditioner
Carpets - courtesy of Bill and Autosmart foam (more on "Mat Man" later!)
Interior plastics Meguiars Interior Quik Detailer Interior
Meguiars' new #21 sealant - good product IMO. Purple thick liquid in appearance with chemical smell. Applied to half car with DAS blue pad on PC and half by hand using foam hand pad. It seemed that using the PC used more product but applied a really thin layer, whereas by hand it was less even but more economical - it didn't help that I had no small (355ml) squeezy bottle spare so was using the full sized bottle - not clever.
Gives a nice wet deep shine, better than Carlack 68 as it has more depth IMHO and no more expensive (£40-odd initially but twice the quantity of Carlack 68 so not much in it)
