mequires leather conditioner/cleaner???

I just bought a bottle of meguires leather conitioner/cleaner. when i opened up the bottle i noticed it was a very thick like paste. is it suppost to be like this. it was a struggle ever time i tried to squeez some product out on my applicator. I just want to make sure i didnt get a bad batch. I did use it on my leather and it did clean it very well but didnt make it shinny at all. do i still have to add some type of sealer over the conditioner?
