Menzerna's New 106FA (pic)

I have PO85RD, PO106FF, standard IP which is PO91L and powergloss (POS34A).

Opted not to get the 3.01 after reading the uk forums and talking to Menzerna USA.

Unfortunately the subaru is silver, so it'll be hard to capture any improvments on camera. I think his wife has a dark blue corolla that we might end up practicing on if we finish the forester early :)

What was wrong with the 3.01 IP..I have it and used it on some ruff scratches..and it worked great..and finished out LSP ready with a white CCS pad....I added a drop of OP to it so to extend the work time a bit..no dusting either...it cut fast and left a nice gloss...I did go over the paint with PO85RD after..but the 3.01 did finish out nice ...

I just did a 02 Volvo with 3.01 and it took out some nasty scratches easy. I did not even feel the need for a finish polish and went straight to lsp.

The only thing I noticed when it was damp it wanted to hop a little on the rotory, but nothing too bad. I also added a litttle op and it cured it fast. I was way beyond impressed with just using it on a polish pad by rotory at 1500rpm. trick was start at 1000rpm, then to 1500, then flash it off back at 1000rpm. Then bang thick clear gloss lsp ready that was totally swirl free.

Nothing was wrong with it. From what I was reading & what menzerna told me, I would see no real improvment of the 3.01 over standard IP if used properly. The ceramiclear polishes all seem to contain extra lubrication from slightly longer working time, which is simply what 3.01 is. To get the same or similar results, Jeff mentioned that spraying some water on the panel would extend the use of the polish and allow me to properly finish it down. IIRC Dave KG has mentioned this a few times as the "slow cut" method.

Going by menzerna's recommendation, it seems as if powergloss was a better option if I was looking at more cut over standard IP.

I would highly recommend people to give Jeff a call @ menzerna USA. What he has to say about the ceramiclear vs non cermiclear polishes is very enlightening and pretty much supported by what I've been seeing the distributors in europe also mention.

Dave

I also find the slow cutting method works perfect and helps it big time.

What it does is it evens out the lubes mainly and the fine polish agents and spreads it evenly over the finish breaking it down perfect. If you work it too fast you will notice lube spotting on the finish. Once spread evenly you can step up the speed corecting the surface producing great gloss. This method works cause it spreads the polish lube on the panel evenly and allows it to work evenly so there is no pad hop.

I traded lots of stuff for it! It will be worth it for both of us. Marcus is the menzerna expert and also has 106fa.

Also polishedbliss has 106fa for sale now. But they are all out of stock and on almost everything
