Menzerna SIP vs IP via PC

If you are working inside with a controlled temperature and humidity, then should SIP never get finicky.

But if you are working outside with lower temps and damp weather then you are asking for problem.

SIP works best with a DA, PC or Cyclo IE oscillated moves during these conditions.

I have a hard time believing SIP is better with PC, Especially if it has a longer working time!

I was really looking forward to using Menzerna SIP with my dewalt.

How is 106ff with Rotary?

Honestly I'm tired of using my PC, I mean it has really worked out well for me, and I have clean up some pretty nasty stuff. But I'm tired of hitting panels twice and buffing forever to remove swirls. I am now looking to use my PC for LSP's, and I'll Start those tuff swirls with my rotary. I have used my rotary once, dewalt849, polishing pad, SSR2.5, and removed swirls very quickly with very little clean up! I can't see working my butt off with the PC anymore. I may use it to clean up after rotary with a less aggressive polish, or use it to glaze, wax, seal etc. After using the Rotary and feeling the Power, and seeing the results, I can't see myself starting a tuff job by PC anymore.

SIP works great with a rotary under good conditions. But if SIP starts to behavy tricky, then it will work better with a DA/PC.

PO106FF works very fine with a rotary.

i use 106 with and orange lc pad and pc for my correction all the time and unless the paint condition is real bad thats all you need finished down like a charm ready for cleaner and lsp.

The Hype over Menzerna is justified. They're are good products. I think the reasons for the different results are the different conditions that the products are used under. eg,

heat, cold, humidity, dry air, sun, shade, etc. Also the products have been used with different machines,UDM, PC, Rotory,Cyclo, Groit's Machine, Flex etc.

All these combinations get different results. I forgot to mention different speeds and run times. Alot of variables. Continue to research and ask questions on this site. Hope this helps. It's just my opinion.:2thumbs:

I would say assuming your process is good you just get the SIP simply because its made for ceramic clearcoats. It cuts and finishes really well but considering IP wasnt "designed" for the harder clearcoats, youre essentially buying and 2in1 product because you can use your SIP on ceramic and non ceramic clears as well....

PS. 106ff is the shizznite(super versatile), try it then buy it.

For the guys, that say SIP is finicky, are you using Rotary or PC? also what is the polish doing? is it caking? hard to wipe off? etc. Please explain the finicky part!

When SIP behaves bad it will start to cake up the pads, spit out clumps of polish and sometimes it will scream of the paint beacuse of the friction. This is with rotary.

If SIP don´t want to play with a rotary then you could test it with a DA or Cyclo, then it would work better.

Don´t get it why people are saying that SIP beaves strange when they are using SIP in low temperatures and outside. SIP is NOT designed for outside use and works best with temperatures around 20 celcius.

I received my order of IP, is it normal for it to dust, I got quite a bit, I used a white polishing pad, it did a great job on my car, I'm real happy with the product, just not the dusting. Also, they sent me a free Orange pad with my order, the pad is pretty hard, almost like a stale hardness. is that normal.

Yep, it's pretty dusty. A couple of things that have worked for me to cut the dusting a bit. Do a smaller area and mist some distilled water on your pad before using it. Not much--just enough to take some of the dryness out of the pad. Work it in with your fingers.

The LC (assuming that's what you got) orange pads are a bit stiff. Certainly stiffer than white pads are.

HTH

That freebie orange low profile pad caused me to order a bunch more. I swear, I had no idea that changing to a smaller pad would have that much of an affect on my PC. I guess you're never too old to learn something new.

When I used my new low profile orange pad I misted some Z6 on it. It probably helped a bit. After hand washing it seems softer.

Just ordered SIP and free orange pad last night. Not sure I really need SIP, but I always like something new to play with. I sure don't need 32 oz though :-)

Thanks, I want to try out some more menzerna polishes and I might - even if does rain and the car stays in the garage, that's what the van is for!
