Menzerna Power Finish or Meg's Ultimate Compound

I'm gearing up for my spring detail and want to know opinions on which of these products would suit me best.

I have a 2009 flat black Miata. It has minor dealer-induced swirling - not too bad but noticeable in sunlight. I'd like to correct it as best I can.

I have both Power Finish and UC and I have a PC. Which product will make quicker work of the swirls and which pad should I use? Any tips on application with either product?

I realize I will likely have to go over the car with something like Menzerna 85rd afterwards. So far, I've not really had much experience with paint correction, so this will be my first real effort to take out swirls.

Thanks for any help!

203 since you already have 85rd.

get the hydrotec tangerine pad, about 3-4 of them from detailedimage.com. And get some blue or black pads for the 85rd as well, about 2-3

you wont be disappointed!

Thanks! And I'll look into the hydrotec pads.

I'd love to hear opinions from people who have experience with either or both!

Miatas are usually easy to correct. Comparing Power Finish to UC is apples to oranges...UC has WAY more cut.

Try Power Finish with a tangerine Hydro-Tech, and finish with 85RD / gray. Assuming it has enough cut to correct your swirls, the finish you end up with will be astounding.

Thank you, Matt. That's good to know. I'll try the Power Finish first and if it doesn't cut the swirls, I'll switch to UC.
