Menzerna P0203S

Hey guys, my other thread has stretched to over 7 pages. I've gotten alot of useful info from alot of different people. (thank you everyone)

Some have suggested Menzerna p0203s polish after my m105wool, and m105orange foam.

What do you ROTARY users think about this process? I'am trying to completely eliminate m205 out of the lineup. Way too much oil, will this be a problem with the Menzerna?

(keep in mind, i use rotary, and everything i do is sanded with 2k)

Watch those fillers. I remember once using 203 on a JB hammered M3 with a black lambswool pad/rotary. It looked really good after 2x IPA wipe downs. Then reality started to set in, after the 5th IPA wipe down at least 40% of the defects returned.

^ I hate you for posting that, I just got done reading that 7 page thread that solekeeper posted and was set on buying 203 since it doesn't have the fillers that M205 has.

5 IPA wipedowns?? That much fillers in the 203? I have some coming tomorrow with PO83Q and PO106FA. Looking to detail this weekend. I planned on doing an IPA wipedown in between polishes to make sure it was working, but 1 wipedown will not be enough?

gmblack, you;re kidding about those fillers right? I thought it didn't have that much?

I really need to get another polish besides m205..

I wonder if this has anything to do with the lambswool pad? I haven't experienced the filling people talk about with 106fa using foam pads.

203 is a great polish, especially with a dual action polisher. IMO if you're using a rotary you'll have to finish it down anyways with 85rd or 106, so use sip instead of 203 as it has a little more cut.

Power Finish = Power Fill

I too have been burned(no pun intented) with it too. I used it with a wool pad/rotary on a white C4 Vette I had at the house for a couple of weeks and was left with halograms(of course), and most of the heavy defects returned too. Seems when the oils that filled evaporated right off the surface after a couple of days. Like their Power Gloss compound, this polish has really no use in my arsenal. Cuts mediocre and finishes the same. And I love Menzerna finishing polishes too and still use 106/85 on pretty much every detail. I’d either use SIP and then finish down with 85/106 as 203 really won’t do either as good. I'm glad I only purchased a small bottle of 203.

I have never(?!) got any significant filling out of PO203S. But then I work it properly and I also always using a multiple IPA wipedowns, a heavy alkalie who is foamed and left to dwell, rinse

and then a final wipedown with a product who contains IPA and some cleansing tensids.

Wet sanded and used UC with a wool pad on a panel today. Finished with 203 and after a couple L Thinner wipes all was good.

Man, I think it was Grouse that told me a few years back that the secret to Menzerna was to work it a few more passes after you "think" it's all finished. Also I guess I'm one of the few that like Power Gloss, especially on old paint that's oxidized really bad.

Power gloss is not bad, but I prefere other compounds. But, as you said, Power gloss with a little water will cut fast and hard on oxidized paints; #105 will not have the same cut.

On modern paints #105 is better and easier to use.
