Menzerna FPII not made by Menzerna Germany?

Phil is a very nice guy...IIRC, he too gets his products from CMA. But he has a wealth of knowledge and is very nice.

From the replies, a couple pm's, and searching a few online suppliers, half think FPII is PO85RU (Final Polish) and the other half says it's PO87MC (Micro Polish). CMA pretty much says it's PO85RU but with added ingredients so it works longer, or in other words, a new formula. Autogeek has now responded saying it is PO85RU. Detailers Domain says it's PO87MC.

:hm

By "works longer" I meant it takes longer to break down, or has a longer working in time. I don't know, I'm just a newbie. ;)

Gosh, I wish Menzerna would choose easy to follow names for the products! (Like Optimum or Pinnacle)

And does anybody have an updated/accurate chart of cut and gloss for the Menzerna line?

Why dont you ask them why they dont carry FMJ either?

A few Menzerna labeled products, including FMJ, are CMA creations. FMJ, Blackfire Wet Diamond, and a few others are very similar products. Menzerna (Germany) doesn't manufacture Menzerna wheel cleaner, QD, Car Wash...... -it's a marketing machine for US customers.

:goodjob

CMA was responsible for bringing Menzerna to the US consumers and did rename the products. Menzerna allowed the use of its name under licensing for CMA additional items in the line including spray, sealant, and soap. These are likely just relabeled products with different coloring and smells but who cares since these are not the biggest sellers. Menzerna is known for the polishes and those were designed in Germany. Because CMA controls all US Menzerna resells currently it was easier for AG to get it straight from Menzerna and had been blocked from Menzerna USA by Terry. They did the correct thing IMO by keeping the original names and the original offerings. I do wish for a simple graph showing each and what they can do and several are now offered on another forum with the help of Al and others.

I would disagree with that a little bit. Although FMJ and Spray sealants may not be the biggest sellers, they are huge sellers and very high quality products. AG does not have any Menzerna product like FMJ.

WG does have a product that mimics to an extent the BF AFPP. But it is not the same product. You can apply both (i have both in the garage), and not only is the consistency different, the texture is totally different too. And neither of them is FMJ. They both have similarities to FMJ, but neither are the same product. I used to think they were, until I did the side by side comparison on my hood. All 3 are very good products though.

I still don't think any of these are the old PO 85 RD. From what I have seen, they seem to have more cut. The old RD was to remove 3000 grit marks and these (PO87MC and FPII) both say 2500 grit, same as 106FF. Am I missing something?

I'm at a loss too as to what PO87MC was exactly. AG says it's FPII.

Whatever it is, I ordered some along with PO83Q (aka Super Intensive Polish aka PO85RD 3.01).

Wanted to get the PO106FF, but I just couldn't justify $50 for an auto polish. At least not doing any more that just my own cars.
