Menzerna FMJ - Any Updates

I guess we'll have to wait for the "BillNorth's official FMJ guide" before anyone is capable of giving a true opinion on this product.

:)

I think Marty and all of us got your point. Some product releases get alot of hype-some is met some is not. Just like some product releases have those on the sidelines questioning the hype and pointing fingers at those who praise the new "Gift of Gawd" .

Only thing keeping me on the sidelines is the price of the darn thing. But I'm not pointing and laughing and I AM reserving judgement till I have tried it.

I'm not laughing either, nor am I questioning reviews other than my own. I'm just trying to be the doubter in the group. I want to keep everyone's feet grounded. If it means I have to be the bad guy, and get my head ripped off, so be it.

I wish I would have done this during the NXT and WG threads.

Bill.

There were always doubters during those product's hype times. And after them, I think most of us keep our feet grounded. I saw it as a little pun intended, but I may have missinterpreted. All's good. We all need to chill, including myself.

I've been up longer than I should have and surfing this site longer than I should have.:doh Gotta get some shut-eye

The difference is that NXT was hyped before the product was released. People have been commenting on FMJ after using it. So the FMJ threads aren't hype at all, they are just opinions people have had after using it.

My point is, his post is filled with quite a bit of hype, and not a lot of substance. His post is very reminiscent of the WG/NXT posts I read a while back.....

Are you understanding me now, Marty? Is my point clear to you?

Bill. :) :wavey

Thanks for the explanation, Bill. I believe I understand you now perfectly.

You know, the guy said, "It's suppose to have...[etc.]..." I don't think that indicates "hype" at all and he never said it was "gawd's gift" either. "LOL... Just having some fun with your post?" That one went by me too.

It seemed at the time like you might be belittling his post in a backdoor cheap-shot distortive sort of way. Thought I'd give you the benefit of the doubt and ask just what your point was. Good to see you weren't having a self-elevated ego tripping problem at all! My mistake. :)

Hope my point is clear to you? :wavey

THAT'S it right there! That is how I interpreted that post. Just a little below the belt- something I don't like to see in forums, especially not this one.

No no. It wasn't below the belt. I was being cute. Believe me, if I have something to say I'll just say it. You guys should know that by now (assuming you've read enough of my posts).

Bill...I read and enjoy the vast majority of your posts. I also thought the NXT frenzy was a bit much and like to evaluate a product myself.

----------------------

C.B. Spank...Totally agree. It's good to see Anthony Orosco is making regular reports. I'm waiting to see if FMJ outlasts other sealants by several months.

Very interested in this product, and would probably also try it if it were not for the price. Where is the best place to buy it from? So far I have seen CMA's package for $40 that includes a buffing MF towel and a MF applicator pad. Not so expensive for Souveran fans, but my carnauba is S100!

I'd like to switch away from Zaino, because I want something with a bit more depth, but the durability is just too good.

Does FMJ have any swirl hiding capabilities?

No hiding cababilities , but it does add great depth!

Here's a dark blue A4 with FMJ I did not to long ago.

I guess the last questions are, what about durability, and when is the price coming down?

If they are after market penetration, IMO, they won't get it without finding a way to get the price down.

JustinTRW , I can tell you that FMJ last at lest 4months and is still going strong. As for the price I don't see it coming down now or in the future. Personally I see no need for it to come down when you compare it to the likes of Zaino and Klasse. With FMJ you really only need alittle to do a large vehicle I used about 1/2oz to do a complete H2. I really think I can get close to 100+ application out of one bottle.

Is it recommended to use any of the Menzerna products underneath, such as the glaze? Could I simply apply it to bare or AIO'd paint?

After 4 months, how is the beading and slickness compared to a similarly old Zaino system?

It's not necesary, but i have had excellent results with FTG & FMJ check my gallery for pics. Get yourself some FPII if your interested.

The initial slickness goes away pretty quickly, but the beading last for a long time. Detailbarn is correct in that one bottle will last a long time.

Any tips on using FTG? I'm rather fond of FMJ, but I've had nothing but difficulty with the glaze. I tried working more, working it less, using more, using less, letting it dry, wiping off immediately . . . seems no matter what I do, I get hard to buff residue that smears. Maybe I need to work it even longer, but there are only so many hours in the day, y'know?

I apply FTG pretty thin, slightly more than FMJ, they are pretty close in consistency. I work it in with a CMA white pad until it begins to disapear but still slightly wet, i don't buff until dry. I found that a meguiars ultimate wipe takes it out the easiest of all my MF's.

You can also work it by hand, maybe that would give you better results.
