Menzerna confusion

I was wondering if anybody can clear up my confusion about a couple of their products, probably a result of the part no. designation similarity PO85XX
what differentiates IP,91E from SIP,85RD? I am under the impression the main difference is SIP is for ceramiclear?

the same for Final,85U and Nano,106FF, Nano is for CeramiClear? I was also under the impression FP contains no filler or oils?

Has anybody used all these and can make comparison/application observations?

I don't think that SIP is for ceramiclear coats. The products that were designed for the ceramiclears were (to the best of my knowledge) the 106ff (Nano) and PU 85RD. These products can be used on any type of paint but they have more initial cut to make it easier to polish the hard ceramic clear coats.

None of the Menzerna products contain fillers or silicone.

Don't bother getting Intensive Polish if you are working with a dual action polisher ... it's way too much effort for the results... same with PowerGloss. I find these products to work best with a rotary (which the whole Menzerna line was made for ... rotary).

I have the 106 (Nano) and it is pad dependant for swirl remover. A cutting pad will cut like a compound and a finishing pad it'll be like a finishing polish ...

I'm no pro with Menzerna so I hope this'll clear up any confusion...

For CeramiClear: PO85RD, PO106FF, PO106FA, RD3.01 (=SIP), RD3.02.
But all them work perfect with non ceramic clears.

I think you are confused as well :wall, SIP is PO85RD, I also think they changed the part number to PO83U because FP was already called PO85U

As for the clean up, you can go right to LSP but if you want you could do a 50/50 alcohol, water wipedown.

Menzerna Intensive Polish is a decent polish but a pain to work with. I am spoiled from using the SSRs and like with the PC / UDM and the Menzerna IP is always like cement to remove. I tried playing around with the amount of polish and speeds but wiping off the excess was very hard. The same was true when I used Power Gloss. It's just a peeve of mine when you have to spend more time wiping off a polish than actually polishing it .... I think that a MF towel should be able to wipe off polish residue rather than rubbing.

But I have come to the conclusion that the PC with these two polishes didn't generate enough heat to break the polishes down, thus making it hard to work with.

The PO 106 FF is expensive but a very good polish and is PC friendly. It is somewhat pad dependant yet it'll still finish down quite nicely.

PO85RD is ceramiclear Final Finish
PO85U is FP II
PO87MF is FP1
PO106FF/FA is ceramiclear finish with more cut
PO85RE5 is ceramiclear Final finish with less cut than 106
PO91L/91E is non ceramiclear Intensive (more cut than 85RD IP) (1500 grit vs 2000)


I don't think PC and menzerna would work the best
With a rotary, SIP/RD Intensive will dry like a rock if you work it too long
It gums up and goes hard.
