Memorial Day Weekend 2013

Doing some stuff to the house this weekend. The master bedroom has needed a repaint for a couple years now, so finally tackling that project. Also need to finish glazing some windows. Other than that the pool and a 30 pack is calling my name  Might get ahold of the Equinox if I'm feeling frisky; it's in need of a good detail. The drivers side on the Jetta needs some wetsanding too, so who know.

Gee whiz. Sounds like you're going to be working your tail off

Well I am single now, I have a little bit of money saved up, and there are nothing but bars and clubs and beaches around here. How much do you wanna bet I am going to stay at home and play video games all weekend? :D

Sounds like the temptation is strong. If you stay home you'll have money to spend on more detailing supplies!

WE wont be opening the pool this weekend. Low tonight, 29.

It is so cool this year for a May.

Tell me about it Al. I'm down the beach and had to light the fireplace last night.

Can't believe how mild the weather has been this Spring. I for one am really enjoying it ........... while it lasts

Able to get any detailing in Pat?

We went on a 3.5 hr hike today to Cascade Falls west of Blacksburg, Va. It was a cool 47 on the mountain but finally got to around 68 or so.

I will be going through the rest this week, I took almost 150 shots (most done at least 2x). Most of the rest are along the creek getting to the falls but here is one. Most of them are in the shade.

Thanks, I used a Nikon D600 (24MP) with the kit lens (24-85). The lens is a sharper than my Nikon D90 18-105 along with significantly better high ISO performance so no hesitation to shoot at ISO 400 to 800 in these dimly lit situations to get the depth of field.

^^ If you do any correcting on the pictures you can shoot all the way down to ISO 100 easily, especially in the middle of the day. I've brought it all the way down to 50 before. I always try to shoot with the lowest ISO possible because it makes the colors more vivid and less grainy but I mean if you like shooting that high it's up to you. The pictures still look good though.

Stayed around home this long weekend. Washed and waxed the Fiat. Washed and waxed the DW's Mazda CX-7. Two cars in one weekend! Did some errands with the DW. Went to see the Star Trek movie with my oldest Son.

Cooked a brisket on the grill - it came out so good! Watched some TV including the ending of the Monaco GP F1 race! Going to the in-laws for dinner tonight (Monday).

Today I placed an order for stuff at Autopia! :yay

While enjoying this time I have tried to remember those that serve to make our freedom possible.

All in all a very good time, however, I am jealous of the previous poster with the skinny dipping!

Tomorrow is back to Jury Duty :wall
