Sorry search function wouldn't work out for me....

Here is the question of the day:

Which is better Gold Class or NXT.

This is what I have heard. Gold Class, better durabilty. NXT better shine.

The car in question? 2004 Mazda 6 v6 Glacier Silver in colour....

Looking forward to all of your expertise...I need it!

Gold class can be difficult to remove if applied by hand, but its fine by PC, as is NXT. I think you are right about durability, but I dont mind putting an extra coat of NXT on because its so easy!!!

I have a silver metallic Volvo V50 and I use AIO+ NXT on it, love the look. Haven't tried Gold Class though.

I would say NXT has better durability. Better shine is subjective but they're subtly different.

NXT has better durability than Gold Glass. It smells better too.

Let's see some pics of this silver Mazda! :woot:

:welcome to Autopia! :wavey

Are we comparing the *new* Gold Class or the older formula. I was under the impression that the new formula was very good. I think Mosca has tried it a few times and made favourable comments...maybe he can chime in.

I keep getting GC for Christmas, so I have like 3 bottles of it. :nomore: It seems to be pretty easy to apply with descent durability and shine, to my non-professional eye.

Yeah I was talking about the older formula. I haven't tried the new one because of my sub-par results with the old one.

White95Max NXT has better durability than Gold Glass. It smells better too.

I would love too, but i live around Hamilton, Onatrio, Canada...right now we are in the middle of heavy snow, and salted roads.....pictures won't do any justice at this point...

As for new versus OLD....I coulnd't tell you...I didn't know there was a difference. When I look at the botle, I see a GOLD BMW. "Meguires since 1901. Gold Class. Clear Coat LIQUID Car Wax."

That's as much as my VERy limited detailing knowledge takes me.

And what is a PC? I do it all by hand right now...we have an orbital buffer at the other house I could always use....but I Like tradional elbow grease....i get to bond with my car....

A PC is a Porter Cable Polisher. GET ONE!! You will bond with your car even more.

Stick with the NXT. I have switched to NXT from GC and will never look back.

The new formula is pretty good. Durability is up, and it's easier to use. It looks like NXT lite.

Thing is, this is a time of great change in LSPs. It seems like every time you turn around something is newerer and betterer.

So, do you get GC for $10, or something else for a little bit more, or is there a better value for a little bit less? Is there some reason the GC stands above other $10 products?

I dunno. I got my GC in one of those Target kits when they went on clearance. I'd probably get the NXT for $5 more. Or use the ColorX for $5 less. The GC is a great $10 product that isn't any better than any other great $10 product; there are lots of those.
