Meguiars vs Blackfire wet ice

I see the Blackfire Wet Ice fire combo discussed favorably quite often. Is the look that different than anything else? Are there similar Meguiars products that would give the same results? If so, Which ones? Ultimate wax then a carnauba topper

I have and use the Blackfire combo, most recently on my black DD. I do firmly believe that "the pop is in the prep", meaning it's what you do before the wax step that makes the difference. If you did a 50/50 panel with the BF fire/ice combo on one side and Meg's Ultimate Wax topped with either gold Class or M26, it would take a very discerning eye to notice the difference.

Looking in my stash I found some Gold Class Plus. I used the liquid a while ago and this is a new tin of paste. Does it have cleaners ? Can it be used over Ultimate wax-paste or liquid ?

GC has no cleaners and makes a great topping over Ultimate Wax. For best results, I'd allow the UW to cure at least overnight.

I personally never thought topping BFWD with wax did anything. In my experiences, BFWD felt much slicker and lasted longer than anything Megs made. It may be pricey compared to others, but it's one product and it's all you need plus saves time compared to doing two LSP steps.
