Got this OTC some time ago. After using up my griots wax as you dry, this got put to use this morning. VERY GOOD PRODUCT. Nice smell and left a great looking finish. Good job Meguiars.

PA DETAILER- What`s the diff between using that and something like their UQW/D156? That you can leave more water on the vehicle and still have it do the spray-wax thing?

The difference is the hydrophobic properties that D156/UQW leaves behind.

Now I`m confused! Wouldn`t the hydrophobic properties be a plus? Why use something else that doesn`t provide that? Or is the Shine As You Dry a lot cheaper?

Not that I`ve noticed a *huge* diff (in hydrophobic properties) between my Spray Waxes and QD-strength IUDJ...maybe the differences are just too subtle for me, or maybe the underlying LSP factors in.

In my opinion they would be. The burgundy bottles are Meguiar`s entry level products for the average joe. They don`t know what the difference is and they just grab the cheapest product on the shelf.

I can attest to one thing. After laying down a good LSP (In this case I used DP POLI COAT SEALANT) in the spring. And using a wax as you dry product after each wash, IT PROLONGS YOUR LSP!! I am now a strong believer and user of wax as you dry products!! My xterra looks and beads just like the day I applied the DP sealant. Not to mention it makes drying that much eaiser after a flood rinse. Just a little extra step that makes a world of difference.

I`ve been doing the same w/PP365 and D115, the gloss & beading don`t seem to fade away at all and it`s been almost 3 months.

I have so many layers of stuff on my Jeep when I drive down the highway layers of polymers fly off the hood like ice in the winter :autopia:

Drying aids, in general, are just a good idea. Use a wax type aid, and your leaving some protection while saving your paint from direct towel contact. win-win.

D156 is my favorite for this. It flashes at a rate that works for me. That`s the key for ease-of-use IMO.

I keep hoping somebody else will dry using the (QD-strength) IUDJ as their drying aid, preferably over FK1000P so I can get some "other guy`s experience" data. It *still* surprises me that I`m so satisfied with that stuff.

Using OCW as the Drying Aid on my wife`s car (over M16) is also working great, but I wouldn`t say it`s really better. Not like I see a significant diff depending on which approach I use (maybe I`m just not being all Autopian about the evaluation..."car look good?" "yeah, car looks good" is about as involved as I get with it).
