Meguiars Product Claims - outrageous sometimes

The Canadian dollar is worth about .72 US but we end up paying double or triple a lot of the US prices. It's not all in the exchange rates.

No.. where we get hooped is they put the markup on AFTER the duty and exchange etc so the price is inflated all the more.

Hi myall00,

Welcome to Autopia. :wavey

Now I understand your comments about the price of meguiar's. NXT $38 :shocked Please enter your location so this type of mis-intrepretation of post comments does not happen again. Really helps to know where people are located so comments about price, availability, durability, etc can be more deeply understood and evaluated.

I DESPISE NuFinish. On every car ive ever used it on that isnt white it leaves nasty grease marks on it. It is after going over the car a coupla times to get all the residue and stuff off. I just looks aweful. It does make stuff look new, but in my opinion the grease marks just arent worth it. Ill stick with the Meguiars stuff

5. 1 layer S100 Carnauba Wax. Wait 12 hours. QD.

Rgds.

Hmm ? are you serious ? I'm really tempted to try this ? I normally let my Zaino z2 cure for that long?

But does letting the s100 sit for that long produce a long lasting "wet looking" finish ?

thank

myall00,

I'm also from Malaysia and as far I know that NXT is still not available here.I just called their distributor and they told me most probably it will arrive on May.May I know where do you got yours here.

6. Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection (this product produces a super slick effect as a finishing touch). Makes S100-prepped surfaces even glossier!
Just thought I'd note that while EGP seems to "work" over these other products, its high solvent content is likely stripping or disrupting the #7 and S100 beneath it. It's sort of incompatible with the rest of the routine you have, and I would either drop it out, or drop #7 and use SRP--> EGP--> S100 in that order.

I honestly don't think QDing any layers or products has that much impact except maybe if applied on the final coat of product. It's primarily used for cleaning surfaces even though it has "shine enhancers".

All a QD does is provides a lubricant to prevent dust and dirt from marring your finish when cleaning the car with a mf rather than doing it dry, or washing the car completely.

But, if it works, it works.

Tom

Also don't forget most QD's have surfactants (soaps) and other cleaning ingredients/solvents like propylene glycol ether (cellosolves). Using QD's sometimes removes the product you just applied, like wax or glaze.

Other QD's have silicone emulsions which provide slickness and water beading but can interfere with the bonding of some polymer sealants.

See.. I knew I didn't use a QD for a reason .. just didn't know what it was .. I just didn't like the possible scratching using a QD to clean a dusty car.
