Meguiars NXT Tech or Pinnacle Souveran - please help?

I would be tempted to alternate between the two when you feel like waxing. Apply the NXT then a few weeks later after a wash tp it with some Souveran, that way you still get to be out driving not waxing.

I would be tempted to spend a weekend giving the car a good prep and getting a good sealant on there, that way you can throw on a coat off Souveran after a wash if you have time. Its so quick and easy to add a coat after a wash. ( Extra 10-15 mins)

While I agree in the fact that Souveran is the deepest product out there, aclaimed as the king of red and black and probable the best single product available; this is a good refutal to the mtyh of "only the boutique expensive waxes can make a car look great". NXT is a very good product readily available, you can almost get in a rite-aid!! And red is one of NXT's best colors.

Keep the souveran for the maximum, but NXT is not a bad choice at all. Heck, I know this will cause some convulsions, but even the humble turtle wax platinum ultra gloss (TWPUG) will look great in that car (as good if not better than NXT and it is deeper for sure). Keep the car nice and waxed :up

Earlier today I bought a can of the NXT wax and tried it out on my 04 Accord because I was really curious about how well it works but didn't want to try in on the new Porsche. NXT is really a nice wax - did a great job on my Black Accord. Now we'll see how durable it is since the Accord is my daily driver. I did find that NXT required quite a bit of elbow grease to apply and remove - more than I'm used to with the Souveran.

After that, I waxed the Porsche for the first time and I used Pinnacle Souveran just like I used to use on the S2000. I simply love Souveran - wax goes on SO EASY, and just wipes off leaving that amazing depth to the paint color. No doubt the Porsche will only get Souveran wax. If you haven't tried it, it's worth every penny. The can of Souveran I bought prior to this one lasted 5 years.

IMO Souveran is the best stuff on the market for a Red car.

Chad, you want to resize those pics next time before you upload. :faint: :)

On the NXT, you will get more of a vitreous look with it, but it'll look its best with two applications at least a day apart. Try it...you'll be surprised at the difference in looks and durability. BTW, I always apply two coats of whatever I'm using...you get the most out of the product's potential, IMHO.

Alex, I also like TWPUG...two coats and its something to behold. :bigups

brianshaeffer, merci, Liquid Souveran is not Souveran paste wax in liquid form...its a different formulation. That's why the 'paste vs liquid' comparison can't apply. IMO, they just used the same name to leverage off the popularity/prestige of Souveran paste. They should've called it something else. Because they're differents formulas, Liquid Souveran is more durable, since its formulated to be so. I hope that clarifies things. :up

I agree with this. Souveran is so easy to work with, smells like pure heavan, and leaves a wet finish that I have not seen equaled. I really think its the King of Carnauba. :)

Souveran will give you an edge over NXT in depth, wetness, and overall look. NXT has edge only in gloss. My last layer of NXT paste wax for my daily driver is from May. It still beads when it rains and sheets off when I wash and rinse and has maintained its appearance. I maintain NXT with Speed Detailer. Souveran with Crystal Mist is awesome though.

Obviously, your eyes like reflectivity and a clear appearance. That's why you had that WOW-moment. For the experimenting's sake, it is worth to try NXT. Nobody will stone you when you see NXT as a winner, or the other way around.

Try it and post your findings! This is the interesting part of the observing... Maybe you need something... a new look, who knows? Get the NXT and do your Porsche's one half with it, and the other with Souverän.

Or for both worlds, buy a jar of Finish Kare's Pink Wax...
