Meguiar's NXT Glass Cleaner - Reviewed

I'm a big fan of Rain-X, I wonder if this "light protective barrier" will cause a problem.

You won't need to use Rain-X any more if you clean the glass with either NXT Glass Cleaner or Eagle 20/20. You get the same effect along with clean glass in one step.

You know, I really wish I didn't trust your judgement Sean.... now I have to go get some Meg's NXT glass cleaner even though I have no need for it whatsoever right now.

(grumbling)

:p

BTW, anybody used this NXT glass cleaner on Aquapel treated windows? Just curious as I find a wide range of performance with different glass cleaners and Aquapel. EO 20/20 - excellent! WG glass cleaner - terrible.

My question is, how similar is the new NXT Glass Cleaner to the Detailers Like Glass cleaner. I have tried the detailers line stuff, but not the nxt cleaner. I like it none the less, but I am interested in what the little differences might be.

The NXT is better, the Detailer D-12001 is really great (better than Stoner's IG or Griot's, IMO) and is cheaper. If you are using a bottle of window cleaner per year, get the NXT. If you're using several bottles per year, get the Detailer or something else bulk.

Nice!

Just tried it for the first time last night, I was quite impressed. It cleaned the usual windshield muck quicker than just about anything, and left almost no streaks while doing it. The second go over eliminated the faint streaks that were there.

Compared to the likes of Windex, there's just no comparison.

WELL worth the price!

Yeah I recently purchased a bottle of NXT Glass Cleaner and it's excellent. Cleans just as well as Stoners but smells much better and the towel just glides across ths window using this stuff. My only complaint is that Megs Canada charges $13.00 a bottle for it.

Tried this last night - wow! Pretty much what everyone else here said. Very nice product indeed and superb results.

Only negative was that even with 0000 steel wool it wouldn't shift the ingrained water staining I have - any suggestions? A friend in the chemical industry suggested I try diluted limescale remover (which he gave me) - ph of 1 according to its MSDS but I am VERY nervous about putting this stuff anywhere near my car.

Is the cleaner available locally? All the usual NXT places don't seem to have the glass cleaner - hopefully distribution will get it out and available; sounds like a product "I gotta have".

Andy, I tried several methods to remove serious water staining on a friends windows...from vinegar, to AG glass polish, to metal polish.

I scrubbed witha rough cotton towel by hand, with various levels of success...the most successful being the metal polish.

Unfortunatly, I didn't try the previous methods with a PC at the time. Some time later, I tried using AIO with a PC/4" cutting pad, and wow! It all came off! Maybe it would've worked as well with AG glass polish and metal polish; I don't know. :nixweiss

But I can really recommend the AIO/4" cutting pad combo. It also leaves a wonderfull slickness, water jetting, and hi-gloss finish. :xyxthumbs

Please let us know how you go. ;)

Some spots required multiple applications but most came off with two passes. Apply as much pressure as you like and use the cutting pad. All the best. :waxing:

Not to be a whiner, but I have to wonder why the "reviews" section doesn't get used more often. I posted a Meguiar's wheel brush review nearly 4 days ago and I still have the most recent review!

Don't feel too left out. I've been trying to get new products added without much success... :nixweiss

I've been using the glass cleaner and I must say I am very impressed. There are two things I really like about this product:

1. It smells great.

2. It really works well...very clear glass with a PakShak WW glass towel.

Very highly recommended. :)
