Meguiars Final Detail

I'm wondering what peoples thoughts are on Meguiars Final Detail. I did some searching but would like to know how it rates to all the newer QD's out there.
I've read all the rave about fk 425 etc.
The only reason i ask is because i've come across someone with 5 Gallons of it they would like to get rid of because they don't detail anylonger.

What would you pay for it?

Never used it, but i have used meg's last touch, which i really like..im sure its good stuff though, ive never used any meg's product i didn't like. Check meguiars.com to compare prices.

im sure nething under 100$ is pretty good deal thats if its 5 gallons

I don't think they sell final detail any longer.? I looked and only turned up final inspection. I may have missed it but I think I remember it being discontinued or maybe that was last touch......

The Final Detail was discontinued quite some time back.
That certainly doesn't mean it is a bad product, but it probably should be priced accordingly.
I have some and use it occasionally. It definitely is one of the high gloss QD's. It really does add to the look of a good wax job.
I also think it has a lot of silicone in it and wouldn't be a good thing to use if you are planning on applying a sealant in the near future.
If I remember correctly, my gallon of it was only about $15 so a 5 gallon jug was probably a lot less per gallon.
I think the new Last Touch QD can be purchased for about $70 for 5 gallon so my thought would be about 1/2 of that for the Final Detail.
5 gallons of any QD is going to last you a long, long time.
I personally would pass on it, deal or no deal.

They must have quit final detail. I have #34 final inspection. I use it when working with sealers. For example to remove haze from Klasse sg.

Final detail part # D-5105 is a different product.

Thanks Charles. I wasn't aware it had silicone in it, although I'm not suprised many of the products developed for speed and volume do.

I use the Mequairs Last Touch from their Detailer line of products. It
doe's not have silicone in it as I have the MSDS document. It lubricates
well for clay bar use and has not done any marring dusting my paint with
a good Microfiber towel. You can get a gallon here for 16.99.

Meg's FD is at the top of my list of favorite QDs. That is why, when I heard it was being discontinued, I stocked up. I'm now down to my last 2 gallons. Charles is close on the cost, I think I was paying just under $15/gallon.

Whether it is a good deal or not is up to you.

I use the above product, if thats what your wondering. I dilute it 50:50 so it can be used for claying. Its not as good as other qd's out there, mostly because it doesnt buff off as easy, it remains wet and takes some buffing to get it totally dry. the price is right though for a quick detailer.

Which is exactly why I choose to use #34 instead of Last Touch. I can get FI (Final Inspection/#34) for $20 per gallon locally, and at the rate I go through it, it really isn't a bad price. Plus it works really well and is body/paint shop safe. :)

Last Touch may not have silicone, but it is still not body shop safe.
Anything that isn't body shop safe is probably not a good product to use just prior to a sealant.

mtmaher1 asked about Final Detail which is a different product from the Final Inspection and Last Touch that is being brought up.

They are all good products, but definitely different.
The only one I would even consider using just prior to a sealant would be the Final Inspection and I'm not too sure about it. It at least is considered body shop safe by Meguiar's. Final Detail and Last Touch are not.
