Meguiar's and the glaze/polish confusion

before I used Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish and was pleased with the results. The reflections got very clear, and visibly improved. I see no reason why #7 wouldn't do a similar thing.



Scottwax also uses SGEC before other polishes, but I don't remember which discussion thread this was on.
 
Does DACP need to be put on with a polisher or can it be done by hand? I am fairly new to paint cleaners and the like. I know it says clear coat safe but what are the chances of making things worse by using it?

Yes, it can be used by hand (any product can for the most part) but it's best used by machine. It starts off fairly aggressive but buffers quickly to a mild polish. Using this product by machine makes the process go quickly; by hand means you'll have to do a good bit of polishing. So, hand polishing means you don't really get the full effect of the "Dual Action" part of the product.
 
So I am getting ready to use BF next week. I didn't get the BF polish can I use a #7 and expect the same results? Or should I get the BF polish?

Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish is a mild cleaner than prepares the surface for the Paint Protectant. Looks even better if it goes on top of the S100 Gloss Enhancing Cleaner, or Meguiars Machine Glaze. Terry at CMA said that BF II can be used on top of their polish, or Klasse All In One.



#7 by itself is a carnauba prep. You need another sealant type prep for the Blackfire to be durable.
 
We're really OT, ehh? MrDetailer, I'd guess that if BF will bond fine over S100 GEC, or #3 Machine Glaze, then I wouldn't think #7 would be a problem either. I thought Terry said you could use it over basically anything. I don't see why #7 would be a problem.

Plus, you may miss an audience of people who can help but won't read this far because they aren't interested in whatever the original point of this thread was.
 
Sorry. Yes, I would be using S100 wax after polishing. So basically I'd be using the S100 Paint Cleanser first, then the #7, and then the S100 wax. Or would the proper way be #7, S100 Paint Cleanser, then the S100 wax?

Klasse AIO or BF Paint Enhancing Polish

Blackfire Paint Protectant.





Mage



S100 Gloss Enhancing Cleaner to add nourishing oils and clean the surface better. I haven't found it to work well with swirl marks or scratches.



#7 to add more oils and appropriate fillers to remove or hide swirl marks.



S100 Wax



That should be a great combination.

I think 3M defines a glaze as a type of polish that is body-shop safe.

So I suppose their PI-III glazes (machine & finishing) are also body-shop safe.
 
So true. This is why it is important to read into what you're gunna buy before you actually buy it. I bought the Meguiar's Polish thinking it was a "polish" but its really a glaze.... Well hey, atleast i hav a glaze now... lol
