Meguiar’s #80

I really like the look of Meguiar’s #80 followed by #16, and I was curious as to how frequently I could use #80 without negatively impacting the clearcoat thickness. How abrasive is #80? Is it not advisable to use #80 each time I reapply #16? Maybe once or twice a year instead?

I know it may be difficult to give a definitive answer, but I would appreciate anyone's comments that have used #80 for some time.

Thanks!

if you are worried about impacting the clear coat, yet need a light polish, maybe you should get something a little less aggressive, maybe like #9 Swirl Remover 2.0 or something similar.

I dont think its something you would want to use on a regular basis, however, as an initial cleaner, its hard to beat. As said, use a lighter grade abrasive for your maintenance needs....I think you'd be ok once a yr (#80) if needed......

I really don't mean to :argue but I think you have that one backwards. #80 seems way more abrasive to me, but it does break down very fast.

Ooops....

Your right Accumulator. :)

#82 is less aggressive than #80.

I better take it easy with the Mai Tai. :D

I also have Menzerna FPII, but I've been reluctant to try it based on the comments seen here. I know #80 is more than just a polish, but how does FPII compare to #80 in terms of abrasive level?
