Meguiar`s D114 Rinsefree Express Wash Is Discontinued

This makes me sad. Although I don`t use a ton of it, it is nice to have on hand for coating prep wash and stuff. The dilution ratios are so good that it seems to last forever.

Personly I would rather see them get rid of the wax version and keep this.

DI was out of it too. Kind of a bummer. It was my favorite waterless since it didn`t leave anything behind. Back to ONR. I`m not even going to try to order the 3 inch microfiber pads. I`ll just switch over to B&S pads. I would buy Rupes but they are just too expensive. I also want to complain about the Rupes Nano pads price, but I`ll start another thread.

I never used it, so I`m not that mad.

I normally gotta try the latest and greatest. Now this is the latest..............

Surprised you didn`t try it. It was perfect for anyone that wanted a clean car without adding additional shine enhancers. I prefer to add my own. One reason why I now prefer soaps that are without waxes. Plus it was a good price. A gallon could last a long time, and that is what finally did it in. One gallon could last a year or more even with steady use.

It boggles my mind that such a synonymously loved product could get completely discontinued. Why wouldn`t they at least try offering it in 32 ounce bottles like Optimum does with ONR? I honestly think there is something else amiss....maybe that there is a chemical in d114 that they`ve now learned has environmental impacts that they didn`t know about origionally? I just can`t imagine why a company like Meguiar`s would want to take away a product that is known for being the first rinseless, waterless, detail spray combo that leaves the paint squeaky clean without leaving behind it`s own polymers and silicones that can ultimately altering LSP? It`s really frustrating because I found a new respect and love for meguiars when I started using d114. RIP*

I cant believe it either. What product comes up more whenever we get asked about a RW, WW?? Tough to say that 114 wasnt #1 or 2 in the discussion.

Whats next Meguiar`s? Why dont you just get rid of the whole detailer line? No one buys that crap!!!!! (Sarcastically)

D163 Tire & trim Gel was also discontinued as was their 3" microfiber pads (both cutting and finishing). It does appear that their metal polishes (fin cut, medium cut and heavy cut) have been or will be getting cut as well.

3M must be starting to have Meguiar`s clean house of products that don`t sell.

Don`t even get started on Meguiar`s discontinued D103 All-Purpose Cleaner Plus (Megs APC+) that those of you who have carpet extractors LOVED because of its low-foaming characteristics/formulation that was (were?) great for cleaning carpets/interior seat clothes. (Personally , I like D101 APC better, BUT I have no extractor, so go figure...)

That leads to a good forum question:
Since enough of you seem to want D114 (as well as D103) , could we Autopians petition Megs/3M to bring it back in limited quantities?? Guess not... go big (profits) or go home.
(Now, if they would only remake M16 Professional Paste Wax again)

They just have me all worried that 156 will be the next thing to go. About all I used on quick jobs was their degreaser, apc+, 156, and either hyper wash or 114. 114 was also one of my go to interior products and my drying aid and clay lube.

If Mequiar`s/3M keeps discontinuing products they should just close up shop !! People will move on, try other products.
The customer base will change to support those people.
