Meguiar Hi-Tech Wax

Cna u layer this wax for more protection

like i wax.. first.. then buff then wax again?

and how long should i let it cure or "haze"?

like one panel at a time or do the whole car first cause

Im reading different opinions here.
 
Yes you can layer the Meguiar's #26 since it doesn't contain any cleaners.



Yes apply wax, allow to haze/dry then remove. Allow to cure/harden before applying another coat (usually 24-72 hours.)



I usually let the #26 haze/dry for 45-60 minutes while I detail other parts of the car. Tt can be dry in 15-30 minutes if not humid and fairly warm weather.
 
Can/should Meg's #26 Liquid be followed with a carnauba topper? Is this a waste of product? Is it NOT adviseable? :nixweiss



If so, does any particular topper yeild a better result?

Meg's #26 is a canauba based wax. I find it still beads water like crazy even after 6 weeks (parked outside 24x7).

I think you are thinking about the liquid #20 polymer sealant from Meguiar's which can be topped with #26.....
 
well i knew it was carnauba based, but not a "pure" carnauba wax...hence my question...



Does applying more than one coat of #26 yeild any better results, or am i just wasting product?

I've not done layers of #26 paste on the same day only because doing my truck takes so darn long (wash, clay, etc, etc) so I can't say for sure if it'll make a diff :nixweiss. Interesting though, would love to know how it does.

I haven't layered the #26 but I have layered Souveran, Paste Glaz, and Blitz over Klasse. I noted a deeper wetter shine after the final coat of Paste Glaz (on beige car.)

I am thinking of trying #26 too. I have a dark red 2002 car. I currently use #7 and Medallion Protectant. I am thinking of #26 on top of the Medallion to get a deeper look. I've searched for any info about this combo and couldn't find anything. I did find a lot of people that thought Medallion didn't last very long. I was surprised by that as I find it lasts pretty well. I guess I haven't evaluated it over a 6+ month period, though, but it certainly lasts longer than the weeks others mentioned. Anyway, my question is do you think #26 over Medallion will give more depth to a dark car? Would it be stupid to use something like Souveran over Medallion? I mean, would the Medallion be a crummy base? I'd like to keep using the Medallion since I like it and I have almost a full bottle of it. I just want to get some more depth out of the paint. Thanks!



Also, has anyone who uses #7 and Medallion noticed that after applying the Medallion, the brilliant gloss left by the #7 is slightly reduced? Is this just what happens when you put protection over the polish, or is this a Medallion thing? It's very slight, but I do notice it.



Ahh, nevermind. I found a thread in the University forum that deals with this exact question. I had searched in the Detailing and the Product Review forums.
