Megs Ultimate QD is here!

durability update - two pretty heavy rainstorms (and about 5 lbs of pine tree pollen) and beading was gone - over a base of megs #21 - but durability not of high value in a QD

Echo: I got a couple rains and a couple of washes out of it too. Still some slickness but basically a couple weeks and it's time to reapply. Can't fault a QD for acting like a LSP though. I just reapplied it to my Lexus yesterday and of course it rained right after. But you know, it's like the first time you applied RainX and you sort of looked forward to the rain to watch the water race off your windshield. Now it's racing off the paint.

I have used it and like it as a OTC quick detailer. I allowed it to dry/cure over night which seemed to help. I found it at my local FRED MEYER/Smiths market place with the 5$ mail in rebate.

used it several times. leaves the surface super slick. kind of like the chemical guys quick detailers. the only thing i don't like is their bottle. the sprayer just pushes down onto the bottle and is suppose to hold. its doesn't screw on. first time i used it, i dropped it twice and spilled it on the floor. also fell a 3rd time, but caught it just in time. i'm used to sprayers just hanging on by the handle to my hand.

I can attest to this. Today I attended the Meguiar's Roadshow held at Jimmy Buff-Its in Indianapolis. Everyone in attendance received a free bottle of Ultimate Quik Detailer and a tin of Hot Rims Mag & Aluminum Polish. Some of you may have read posts about the trigger easily coming off the bottle of Ultimate Detailer. I can attest to the validity of this. While holding my bottle by looping my finger under the trigger the bottle fell right off and half the contents spilled out onto the floor. Check your bottles. Mike graciously replaced the product for me. Thanks Mike! Jim now has a spot of linoleum in his shop that's clean, shiny, and is sealed by Hydrophobic Polymer Technology. :o

Bought it last week. Put it on my car, drove through all types of bugs on a road trip from Philly to Virginia and back. Next day, washed the car and water flew right off the car. I didnt even have to use bug spray to get the bugs off the front of the car. They came off with just water.

It rained consistantly for the next 3 days and once again, the water just ran right off the car. No water spots, very little dust and grass clipping/pollen (neighbor cut his lawn yesterday and I always get a nice green layer all over my car) on the car as well. It kinda does act like RainX as previously said.

I dont know if its just me, but it seems like my car has a deeper shine to it. The clarity of the paint looks much better!!

I bought it. Slick is the word for it. It looks like it needs to cure a bit and gets better.

Got a bottle last night, tried a little out this afternoon. Initial thoughts: Not very slick after initial wipe, but after a few hours, the slickness was decent. It DEFINITELY beads water, so am curious to see how it holds up against a product like AW.

I work at Advance....and we have SHELVES full of this stuff. Looks like its going to be $10.28...but free for me.

Hell I might even grab a box of this stuff lol.

Picked up a bottle at Advance Auto on Wednesday. It's $9.88 there and across the street at Autozone it was $9.99. I'm anxious to try it out to see how it will look overtop of Natty's Red.

I don't see that ironic at all.....

You've got me scratching head with that one. For ages they have promoted sheeting and now they have a product that specifically beads. If that isn't the defenition of irony, well you have me stumped.

That aside, I'm reallly enjoying this stuff. I parked under a tree and got sap all over the car. A few rain showers and it seems to have all washed off. While it doesn't feel as slick as AW, nothing seems to stick to it. I'm 3 weeks in and about 5 or 6 good rain showers and it still beads great.

Well it's always going to bead. That's what rain causes.

Sheeting is more important to me. Can it be sprayed on a washed and rinsed car and then rinsed off a few minutes later and make the water vanish in seconds from each panel, leaving bone dry sections of each panel almost immediately.

If so, I'd buy it.

If not, I'll stick to my prototype product.

I've not used a product from any manufacturer that will sheet cleaner with a low pressure hose than this UQD. I've been on a couple road trips recently and collected a ton of bugs which also rinsed right off with just a hose. This is now my favorite QD bar none. THis works on my windshield too and I'd say better than RainX. Goes on easily and doesn't smear or streak.

I just picked up UQD. While I am not in love with the look on my paint, I think it is great on windows and does not streak at all. Very easy to apply.

This is a very nice QD. I have used it 8x's and it definately has its place. The look is awesome, and the smell is nice (NXTish). My only issue is the application. Makes my MF grabby. Oh well, you can't have it all.
