Megs pads

Hey all ,

very simple question that is today's : have some of you found that Meg's polishing pad was too harsh in some paint (creating buffer scratches), while Meg's finishing pad being too soft to polish off those fine buffer scratches ? By the way, I'm clerly referring to a rotary buffer.

Best to all

not even i love using the megs pads on my dewalt. i always thought they sucked because of the backing adhesive coming off. that PC can be harsh on the velcro backing on any 6.5 pad but when i used them with my rotory i think it works wonders. i have not experienced any problems with them just fyi it may be user error. just experiment with other pads and see what works for you good luck

I have great success. I'm just guessing, but are you using enough product? "Dry Buffing" is a very bad thing!

Go slow, 1750 max, 1250 is nice...

I think, I've found what was wrong : I'd parked the car in the shade, or but it appears sunrays found their way all the same....that is, the paint was not cool enough, and solvent would evaporate way too fast, so I couldn't buff the product long enough for it to cut as it should. I've applied #83 + polishing pad, and now I'm finishing off with #82 + finishing pad (all 6.5 inches), and the result is way good !!! I love the sheen it produce :xyxthumbs :D
