Meg's Gold Class: Synthetic or no??

So do you reccomend Meguiar's #26, or S100 as a final coat, after the polymer?



Which one lasts longer?
 
I think people here will say S100...from what I hear here, it looks GREAT, but doesn't last as long as #26. But that is what you have your synthetic for...when the S100 wears off, just reapply it! I'm getting some S100 soon, yipee!
 
I suggested the #26 to the original poster because he said that he had planned on using the #26. As such, I must assume that he already owns some or it is readily available in his area.



I prefer to use S100 as the final coat. In terms of durability, I think the two are pretty close. I believe that #26 may have the edge in durability. In terms of shine, it is even closer. To me S100 has a liquid shine and depth whereas #26 has more of a warmth to it. I prefer S100, but that is me. As to ease of use, hands down winner has to be S100!!!

Somethig else to add to this thread: When I was looking at my bottle of GC yesterday, I noticed the warning label said it contains petroleum distillates. Is that typical of a liquid wax? If not, that kind of worries me. :confused:
 
What I have read (Griot's catalog):

Carnauba wax in it's natural form is very hard and not pliable. In order to make it usable as a car wax, Petroleum Distillates are used to soften it. (someone please correct me if I am wrong).
 
Petroleum distillates are very common in waxes and polishes. Most waxes have it, so don't sweat. :)
 
Can #26 be layered, without removing some of the previous applications, like a cleaner wax would?

I do not have access to S100, but have a good Megs dealer close-by.

All the Megs labels are so confusing...:confused:

The #26 can be layered, it has no cleaning properties.
